I made my own a couple years ago. The LED's are insanely bright when you have that many. Mine are running at a 1/4 of full amps they can take so they should last forever. I also used the super cheap LED's so not running at full power really helps them last. It only takes like 5 bucks or less in parts but takes a while to make. I used the ends of the bulb that was in there, wired it to a perf board from radioshack and soldered 36 lights in it with a resistor to bump down power and control the amperage. I can't remember exactly how I wired them but I think I got 6 lights in a series and the 6 series' running parallel. So if one bulb goes out only that series will go leaving the other 5 on.
