Wow that is ridiculously bright, how much did you pay for it? Or if he gave it to you for free, how much is it worth?

I made my own a couple years ago. The LED's are insanely bright when you have that many. Mine are running at a 1/4 of full amps they can take so they should last forever. I also used the super cheap LED's so not running at full power really helps them last. It only takes like 5 bucks or less in parts but takes a while to make. I used the ends of the bulb that was in there, wired it to a perf board from radioshack and soldered 36 lights in it with a resistor to bump down power and control the amperage. I can't remember exactly how I wired them but I think I got 6 lights in a series and the 6 series' running parallel. So if one bulb goes out only that series will go leaving the other 5 on.

Mine are blue though. Kinda want to change them back to white. There is too much blue.

Another thought would be to use LED modules like the one most sign shops use the channel letters these days. They are about .5 x 1.5, super bright and come in several colors. They are ready to wire up to 12v and have 3m double sided tape on the back. If you stop by your local sign shop and ask you could probably get a hand full for free or next to free.
