I like those myself, which are they, I might get them for my build.

Alternatively, if you like the look but don't think they'll hold up, how about a home built metal version of those, do you have a tubing bender in that shop of yours?

Those are made buy Xenon and be leave it or not. I do not have a tubing bender. But I will.

Bushwackers, but have already gone through that ones haven't we? Otherwise I'd go with those in the pic as my next option and if that don't work for some reason I'd replace fenders altogether for something like smithybuilt style or so

Thanks for the answer. Now were getting somewhere. Anyone else, come on jump in.

Bushwackers are still in the running. I like the over all look. It's the bolt holes that get me.

They do give the jeep a mean look though.

I love those flat fenders that are like rubbery instead of plastic. Are those the bushwhackers?

Ironically enough I was passing a TJ with bushwhackers about 30 min ago which made me think that YJ looks better with those than TJ. Meaner thanks to rectangular headlights Yeah! Those rectangular headlights all others have been b..ching about - "Real Jeeps have round headlights" . Heard that? Better mean face than googly eyes like something funky is going on in the rear

I'm just kidding.

There's got to be pros and cons to both. Bushwacker look like they'd be more rugged. The ones in the pic look like I'd get more wheel travel. I could be wrong . I'm new at this part.

Ive never been a fan of big flares of any kind. My bro in law has some bushwacker ones on his yj and he had to drill into the tub to mount them, which I would never do. Im considering making some out of tubing for a flat style look for my ole mans sahara....but Im also into one of a kind stuff lol. I bought a YJ a few years ago and it had those on it like the pic and they were pretty saggy in the middles of both the front and back.

I think the flat ones look a lot more bad ass, the bushwaker ones that are rugged just look out of place on a YJ, the flat seems to be much more of a classic look. let the lift and tires have the rugged look, and it does look like you will get more travel out of the wheels in the flat, but thats based on nothing other than just looking at the pics

i likes.. these ones.

Xenon 9080 - Xenon 6" Flat Fender Style Flares for 87-95 Jeep® Wrangler YJ - Quadratec

i love the look of flat fenders. especially on a YJ. and they provide better clearance as well.

I have the Bushwacker Flat Fender Flares on my Jeep and they are strong and sturdy. Plus they were real easy to put on. I think you will like them.

I like these. I agree with you concerns over them warping over time, but you could always bend a metal lip under them out of tube if that happen. They look really clean and give the wheel wells a more open look.

Oh, I have a HF pipe bender if you ever need it.

I'm also partial to the color .

Ill put in my two cents buddy. As you can tell hate flares all together..! big wide plastic flares especially... Tubes are the way to go tho. Rugged looking and practical. And easy to make yurself. Im building some soon as i get some cash. But ill buy the rear. $100 on ebay.. Buy ya a bender and play around with some metal for a while. Again..

I like the cleaner look of these ones over the bushwackers, like 94yj said if they did start to sag you could always make a small frame of some sort to beef them up a bit.

I like one up customs myself. But the good weather is almost here and I want to hit the street. So I need something.

I agree, I can make then work with a little thought. I might take you up on the pipe bender. My wife noticed the steps on the red jeep and asked if I would put them on. I can live with those and the pipe bender would come in handy. Thanks.

I agree with building my own flat fender. But I really don't want to cut anything up until it becomes necessary. I'd rather see how much wheeling I do first. I do like the custom stuff and the effort that goes into doing it when it's done right. Plus if I sell the jeep I think it would move faster with the stock fenders.

I like the flat fender look myself. I would like to find some side shot of them. I did find a straight on picture and I liked them.

To be honest, If I start wheeling allot I would by another one and set it up for that reason. This one is in good shape. It would be a shame to beat the body to death rock climbing. Wheeling would be fine, but I could see myself rock climbing right out of the gate.

I'd like to try IBUILDEMBIG'S wish bone setup. That's a crazy setup, I'd like to see it in action. Plus building another one keeps me busy. Let's see what happens.

I understand why you keep changing your mind on the flares. I looked at a few mentioned and none really look bad. But none really jump out and say "get me". You know what I mean?

Xenon EZ Mount Fender Flare Set
For 87-95 Jeep® Wrangler YJ
Quadratec Part No: 12510.00
Manufacturer Part No: 8200

I would go with these, but, I'm the kind of person who don't care what it looks like, as long as it works.

Your Jeep is looking nice. Can't wait to see it with the wheels on.

You say you have them on your jeep. Because I looked at these. Do the extension off the front fender under the jeep sign taper in or do they stay the same width has the flare over the fender.

I'm like a little kid in a candy store with a dollar. I have the money I'm just not sure what a want.

I thought the tires would be in today, I thought wrong, Maybe tomorrow. It's not like I'm going to put them on and drive away. I still have some things the finish up. Couple more weekends it will be drivable.

I don't know who makes them. I did see some that looked similar on E-Bay.

I'm into this build for a Little more than 3 grand. That's with the wheels and tires. But that doesn't include the gearing for the diffs.

That's a rough guess, as I've been saying I'll post the total at the end.

I don't have those flares (the jeep is stock). The site I looked at only showed one view and it's a small picture so you really can't tell.

I liked them because they looked stock, but wider.
