I used a bed liner on the floor.

Went out and got a couple of brushes and a roller. The roller started falling apart when I was rolling it on, I ended up brushing it on. I think it looks like S**t, but maybe that's just me. The pictures were taken when it was drying, Maybe it will look better in the morning. We'll see.

If I don't like the look, I'll put a carpet in.

Luckily I sprayed the fenders and under the doors with Dupont. That part came out good.

I can live with the carpet knowing the floor is sealed.

Most of the guys that stopped by said it looked good. But I'm not a fan.

Rolling the body on it's side next Friday. Sand blasting and sealing the bottom with por-15. Then I'll get back on the diffs and start putting things back together. I'll post more pics.

Tell me what you think.

Great job man. I WISH I could do what you're doing..

Did you brush the bed liner on like paint? Or dab it on? If you brushed it on like paint, the texture will come out differently.

I went to roll it on, as soon as I started the roller fell apart so I brushed it on.

I used a sponge roller because I thought the the mat style would pull apart. My bad. I was thinking about a second coat. This time I'll dab it on.

The pictures make it look better than it is.

This is the first time I used a bed liner. I should have done under the body first. I guess I wasn't thinking on this one.

YJman

Just looked at your jeep in your profile. Floor looks good. I'm going to make some calls and see if I can do a second coat. Nice job on the rocker panels also.

Doing the inside of the body again this weekend. I don't like the way it came out.

So I thought I'd get a jump on the bottom of the tub during the week. Not much to do it's in good shape.

Then I can redo the floor and get the bottom finished at the same time.

Couple of pics.

Looking very good, nice work! Try to stay away from carpet, I think you will be happier in the long run, in my opinion.

Did the floor over today. The pics don't do it justice were it's in the drying stage. It came out very good.
So happy I don't need a carpet now.

I stopped over a guys house to buy a part on Friday. Pulled up to what looked like a normal 2 car attached garage. Boy was that not the truth. After clearing the I saw a oversized four car garage complete with lift, heater, toolboxes, sandblasted and 2 CJ's being rebuilt. I drooled, bought my part and headed home to my garage. No heat so right now it's 26 outside, jack instead of lift and only 1 side of garage for tools and toys. Blah....but hey I drove around today in my jeep. Even tested the heater and 4 wheel drive.

Any garage, weather it's a car port, a one bay or a tent is absolutely better then nothing. It's hard to work in a driveway in the winter. A lot of times you do what you need to keep it running and save the rest for spring when it warms up. Now your out there fixing it when you should be wheeling. I've been there done that.

I got lucky to have the one I'm in. Very lucky.

Headed to the garage today just to clean up a little. Snapped some pics while I was there. A couple of shots of the bottom. I brushed on the pro-15. Great product. Covered well and easy to use.
I still need to do the engine compartment.

Had a few minutes so I cleaned up the motor and threw a little paint on it.
Nothing fancy. I ran out of paint so I need to hit the oil pan again tomorrow.

I took the 8.8 drum brake setup back to the junk yard. Waiting for my 8.8 disk brake setup. I can't get to pushy, they give me the parts free.

Also ordered a new carrier for the Dana30 so I can setup my 4.88's. That should be in this week. I can pic up the bearing and setup kit locally.

I'd like to get both diffs done this month and back under the frame.

Soooo true. I had a chance to enjoy laying down outside on two pieces of carton box to remove the gas tank while it was blasting out there. Had to to use my Balaclava and sun glasses to be able to work. Let me tell you - IT WASN'T FUN Better if it was June or something but as AlwaysStuck said - you do what you have to

P.S. I was surprised nobody called cops - a dude in the mask and glasses is taking a car apart right on the driveway Damn! Sh..t's really that bad?!

Thank for the comments and checking out the build. If you guys have any thoughts or suggestion throw them out there. I'm always open to new ideas. This is my first jeep build. I'm learning as I go.

Tell you the truth, I don't have much invested yet. When the builds finished I'll post the total cost, then you'll have an idea if you do it the same way.

Not to bring up a bad subject, but what a shame on the cj. Hope nobody got hurt.

I rolled her three times landed upside down. there isn't anyframe damage just the rear axle, radiator everything else is cosmetic. yes. it does suck. Yea biddy hides a lot of issues. I have a broken shock mount in the rear which needs to be fixed but the hole in the gas tank is priority if anything gets fixed anytime soon. she just needs someone mechanical to fix her and I have no clue.. plus live in an apt and have no space to do anything

Three times, that had to be a hell ride. I'm glad your okay.

There was a YJ frame for sale for 400 bucks on here, or at least there was. It was in upstate NY I be leave and it was in great shape.

400 dollars this time of year can be hard to come by. Hell 400 dollars can be hard to come by any time of year.

If that's an option, call around in the NY area for car haulers that move the cars down south for the rich folks that have summer homes and you can get it moved real cheap if the trailers not full. They just want the extra money.

If the body and floors are in good shape you score a solid ride for cheap money. A frame swap is easy if you can find someone to help.

Just a thought.

Lookin good. I'm surprised how little rust there is on the floor and under the body. When you do the firewall, are you going to pull off the front clip or keep everything attached?

I hate dealing with the fire wall. That's why I saved it for last. It's not that big of a deal, but for some reason I just hate doing it.

I'm going to leave the front clip attached, there's plenty of room to work and no rust showing were it attaches to the body. I'll seal it all up and paint it the same color as the body.

As far as the rust goes. I got lucky.

My bad. I was talking about black biddy. I assume that's the one your driving now that's a little rusty. I thought it looked good in the pics.

I'm sorry to keep bringing this up if it's a sore spot. But were you out wheeling or on the street when it rolled.

Between the paint, the bedliner, and por-15, you are doing it RIGHT!

Nice job
