I'll feel a lot better when it's going back together. I'm going to N.J. and Canada in April and I'm taking the Jeep.

Not a lot of weekends when you add it up.

Okay so moneys getting a little tight. Does anybody know what gears I need to run for theses tires. I think they'll work fine as long as I throw some good lockers in.

I'm thinking with 4.88's I'm going to have an RPM problem.

I was just turning onto a highway . hit the lip of the asphalt over corrected and she rooled across two lanes and landed upside down in the center median. It was 110% my fault. hard lesson learned.

black biddy is rusty. her shell looks good but I am scared to really look at the frame. I already have a broken shock mount. as long as she can hold out until the summer I will start dumping money in her

Now that I cleaned the beer off the keyboard, I must say now it is perfect. Put the tools away and sweep up the floor. Your work is done.
That pic is too funny.
Keyboard, monitor, desk, wall needed cleaned anyhow

I was very happy that the rust was minor. That's the most rust I've found so far.

I'm going to hit it with POR-15 to seal it. Then I'll paint it when I paint the body.

I'm not sure I want to pull the windshield. There is no sign of rust at all unlike were I could see it starting on the fender.

Once I paint and and clear coat the body the windshield will be sealed from the weather.

WOW! I wonder what mine looks like I bet it's going to be a lot more fun. Thanx fit the info and illustrations

Now, were this bolt or nut tight? I'm thinking to put Weld nuts in the tub and use bolts to mount fenders to hide the threaded part of it inside for corrosion reasons. What do you think?

A little up date.

After pulling the nose off. I pulled the pinion out of the front diff. I bought a loaded carrier off e bay to fit the 4.88's. I also picked up a new 4.88 ring and pinion for $50.00 bucks.

(IBUILDENBIG) The gears were Motive not Yukons. Had to beat him down on the price. But for 50 bucks I bought them. If I blow them apart. O well. I have no idea how good Motive gears are, (Anyone running Motive gears, Talk to me) But they were new in the box.

Also keep in mind most of the time the jeep will be on the street.

My plain is to have the front diff back under the jeep and bolted in by Thursday. Then I'll put the motor and trany back in over the weekend.

The bolts were tight but i was able to work them out with no problem. I pulled them out half way, then added PB blaster and threaded it back in, then when I went to pull them all the way out it went much smoother. The nuts are already part of the body. I'll clean the threads on the bolt add some never seize when I put them back in when the time comes.

98% OF AMERICANS SAY 'OH SHIT' BEFORE GOING IN THE DITCH ON A SLIPPERY ROAD.
THE OTHER 2% ARE FROM MAINE, VERMONT, NEW HAMPSHIRE, OR MASSACHUSETTS AND THEY SAY, 'HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS’.

That quote made my night!!! Glad you pulled the fenders now. I was surprised when I pulled my hood hinges and windshield hinges to find primer under there too. Nice score on the gears.

Little up date. I caught what ever was going around so I haven't been working on the jeep. But I'm back.

Worked on the front diff. Got the 4.88's installed on the new carrier. Changed out the pinion gear and got it all set up. What a pain in the ass that was. Painted it with POR-15 along with the steering box.

Went to the garage today and started putting the front end together. Got a little drunk last night so I got a late start and ambition wasn't at it's best. But her's a couple of shots of what I did get done.

I'll build my front shackles this week and get them installed. I also got a Ford 8.8 with disk brakes delivered this week and sent the one with drum brakes back.

I'm also going to take a ride to Crown Jeep Parts and pick up a new trany Cross member/skid plate. They have them for 150 bucks new.

So if all goes well this week I should have the motor and trany back in the frame and front end completed.

Didya topcoat the POR? I know they say it won't fade in nondirect sunlight but they lie a lil bit lol. I would blackote it before the tub goes back on.....and I hear they're making it in a aerosol can so you don't have to brush it on

I did top coat it. I figured if I roll it on a sunny day it'll fad on me. Can't have that.

No need to drool. Were having the wrangler meet here remember you was going to bring the beer. No need the fridge is always loaded. I am how ever going to dump a couple of loads of gravel in here so we can do some competition climbing inside and possibly a mud pit in the middle. After all it is a Jeep meet.

O boy. 10 to 15 inches of snow coming tonight. I can't tell everyone how excited I am because I'll get thrown off the forum for using words like that.

But on the bright side, maybe I'll get a little time on the jeep.

Plus I got my trany plate so I can drop the motor and trany in.
