low slung jeep

looking to start building my TJ into a low slung. anybody have any threads or built one before. i would like to run 35-37s, with a tummy tuck and the frame not much higher than stock. i know the tires need travel and will raise things, but want to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. i have saw one similar to what im talking about in one pic online. but cant find the thread again. btw have my own fully loaded shop so gonna do it all myself ASAP! just need somewhere to start. btw its gonna be a DD also.

i only drive 3 miles to work one way, so the weekend trail mobbing is more miles than it sees all week.

Do you mean something like the Lower Forty? That is my idea of a perfect Jeep and something I hope to accomplish in the future.

my jeep sits stock on stock Jeep springs with a 1.25" BL and I can clear 36s. I only run 33s for money reasons... 36s are hella expensive. maybe one day in the future I'l get some 36s

Condensed: My Build

Full: Float Test Build - JeepForum.com

Not super low but about as low as you can go while still having adequate travel and clearance....I've got 19" at the belly with a flat skid. There's A LOT more to consider when trying to stay super low than what you initially think.

If time off work is your only road block towards reaching that goal, you're doing OK.

not to worry cavediverjc i am one of us common folk. meaning i gotta do it without pissing the wife off for spending too much money. i need to be in it for less than $3500 total. with this rear axle http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/1-to...ml#post2357596 $473 at this point, gonna be a few more bucks to get it back lashed so its tight. metal cloak front fenders $700, different gas tank for the stretch $800 (i might make my own) that dont leave much for drivelines, front axle and new coilover shocks(might have to run the regular coils till i can get those, but its stupid to do it twice so might have to get creative).... dont know if im gonna make it..... oh yeah need a 4:1 transfer case, gonna have to steal that!!! haha (need to find a rubi abandoned in the ditch!)

i've got a 2000 TJ and sits low, i love the feeling of being stable. i'm running a 2 inch spacer lift (replaced junk skyjacker springs) and stock tj coils rear and front xj coils.
i have a 1 inch body lift and a tummy tuck running 35's. love it.
the only thing i don't like is the fact that i rub the back of the fender when turning sharply. but its not too bad... doesn't cut tires or anything...

Do you have a photo of your jeep I have that exact setup and want to run 33 or 35 inch tires.
