Thanks for the comments guys. After i put the motor tranny and tcase together I had doubts about it fitting.

But I said quote on quote "I didnt spend all this money and rip out everything for nothing. If it doesn't want to fit I'll make it fit somehow." So my buddy started cutting out the old motor mounts.

And well I was suprised to see it slid in perfectly first shot.

And my stock shaft fit perfectly. I might lower the tcase another inch but I think its a decent angle I'm open for opinions on this one.

Oh I got mce flatty fenders too still have to do the passenger side but I was drooling over putting the motor in I couldnt wait anymore. Tomorrow Im welding the mounts in place, doing some fab work on the grill to recess the new radiator into it and putting the belly skid back on with the rear mount bolted to it.

Also I didnt take into consideration with the driveshafts angle that once the full weight of the motor tranny and tcase on the jeep and the rear mount is on which will drop the t case an inch that the angle should be much better. Probably close to flat actually.

Well using my stock driveshaft created a problem. I mounted the motor 2 inches to far forward so when I went to install the radiator that is a monster by the way, It was just barely hitting the waterpump pully. So I did the most logical thing a guy with a cut off wheel could do. I took it to my grill, flopped the radiator brackets around (thank god novak had that great idea and design), and recessed it three inches into the grill making everything fit perfectly. Although the radiator barely fit in between the headlights. It was a tight fit to say the least. Picture coming.

So I have everything bolted together and mounted the grills back on rear mounts in there everythings bolted to the engine. Now pretty much all that needs to be done is time the motor and wire it in.....this is where I am baffled and need some help. Hopefully I can get in touch with a fellow jeeper and ask him to come over and help me. If so this baby will be running in no time.

SBC 350 and 700r4 conversion using the NP231J will be checked off the list of mods for my jeep by thursday. Running tranny lines tv cable the fuel lines and vaccum hoses. Wiring it in and changing the oil new coolant and fill up the tranny tomorrow and through some of thursday and this thing should be driving down the road. Sadly I have to leave it this friday but I will pick it up with a locked 8.8 rear with 4.10 gears and 31 inch tires before chrismas around thanksgiving hopefully. Ohh and itll have all new u-joints ball joints a 2.5 inch ome lift steering stabilizer basically every mechanical piece will be replace. Its like a brand new jeep!

Father forgive me for I have sinned....I bought a 2003 honda civic si.

Had to get a car down here in norfolk as a good reliable daily driver...obviously the jeep wouldnt make a great dd. So I have had to put it off for a bit since now I am making a car payment and insurance. But heres where i contradict myself. I'm planning on bringing the si home this summer leaving it there and bringing the jeep here. I don't know why but it seems as though every car I buy I want to do a motor swap too.

I dont know if the jeep gods will ever forgive me. I actually feel a little guilty that I got it. I feel like im cheating on my jeep. My jeep is my first car and its all i ever driven until now. But its ok by doing this and leaving the jeep home it lets more tender love and car go into the jeep while i beat the piss out of this thing. And ill have the jeep down here in the summer for topless wheeling and what not.

The ep3 si comes with a k20a3 the ep3 type r like the rsx type s comes with a k20a2 that has 210 horsepower compared to the 160 thats in my si. plus the a2 redlines at 8 where mine redlines at 7. Plus the a2 is a bolt in swap just need the motor trans wiring harness and ecu from a type s and done deal.

Your wiring harness will be fine for the a2. Also don't bother with the type s Ecu, just get a hondata k pro and have it tuned for your engine.

If you really want to have fun, get a k24 block and a k20a2 head and put those together.

Gotta button up a few small things on the motor swap do a 8.8 rear end swap all new brakes the 2.5 inch ome lift one and a quarter jks bodylift 33 inch duratracs or mtr with kevlars and paint. Then I can start working on the beater

I'm hoping to have it with a 2.5 inch ome lift removed trac bars jks discos jks 1.25 inch body lift with 33 inch mtr or duratracs by june. I have to button up a few small things on my SBC 350 700r4 conversion first like exhaust posi loc 4x4 cable novak tcase shift new front brakes and my ford 8.8 rear end first. Being on E-1 salary its been kind of slow progress but its getting there.

If you want to see it lifted really soon Ill let you buy my lift and tires haha

Yea you got your head on straight get your fenders and gears first. Gears will restore all your lost power from larger tires. And the 4.6 stroker.....thats just for a extra kick when needed/wanted haha. If I had the 4.0 instead of the 2.5 I would have just gotten the 4.6 stroker from golen myself.

yeah i have a 2.5L currently so i really was wondering if the 350 is better than the 4.6 stroker cuz i can buy all the stuff for a 350 such as axles and tranny for the same price as just the engine for the stroker

Then Id just do the 350 conversion Look through my thread it shows what needs to be done to do it properly. I still need to do my 8.8 rear though. But youll go through about the same amount of work to swap that 4.6 stroker in as doing the 350 conversion and the 350 conversion is about the same price as well.

A stock 350 doesn't have double the hp of a stroker. Your looking at about the same hp in both engines but a 350 weighs more, but a stroker is finer tuned engine therefore more prone to problems that would be beyond the backyard mechanic.

With any engine swap that jumps your hp and torque your going to have to beef up the axles and tranny. With a stock 350 you could in theory run the AX-15 with no swap.

ANYWAY lol you can throw a a2 motor in a ep3 everything bolts up. Just need the wiring harness and get kpro.

Or you can turbo the a3. I was one of the first people to turbo the a3 back in the day (03) made 310whp through a 5 speed. Rsx base. Oh club rsx the good ole days. You can rev the motor past 7. up to 7600 I think. or 7400.

did the mounts for the chevy need to be welded in or simple bolt in?

Well i am going to swap a a2 head on the a3 for now and eventually just build the crap out of the motor same block so no need for the complete swap. But yes the mounts are welded in if you try to bolt them in you will collapse your frame.

And for the record a small block 350 gen 1-2 weighs 30 pounds more then the 4.0. Take off the ac as I did and bam its actually 5 pounds lighter plus I put a aluminum intake manifold on got rid of the cast iron one and cast iron exhaust manifolds for headers so im actually lighter then a 4.0 but heavier then a 2.5. If i get aluminum heads and build the motor with forged internals I bet I could be close to the same weight as the 2.5 but thats later down the road. Much later.

So I have been home for a bit and got some work done on the jeep all the wrenching is done now I am just playing with wires to get it started up. Im using my stock in tank fuel pump with a mallory 4309 regulator and I am having trouble getting it to kick on when I turn the key to the run position any ideas? I already have the starter wired alternator wired coil wired electric choke and electric fan is all thats left to wire then Its all done. So anyone who has some ideas on how to get that fuel pump to kick on please post up or pm me.

Ill post pictures once photobucket stops being retarded. Also I just got off the phone with poison spyders customs. I dont want to ruin there thunder or the suprise I have for you guys but youll see me dealing a bit with them in march for a newly release product of theres in march.
