My axle question...

Currently in the process of my transformation to my next big stage in my TJ's life.

With my 8.8 in the back im going to most likely be building it with a Yukon C clip eliminator kit. Now with that I am super beefing this axle but since im going with new shafts, if I stay with the same spline as whats factory will I be able to reuse the OEM shafts as trail spares?

Highly doubt it, and doubt ill need them but might as well ask.

Thanks!

I'm not sure. I kept the stock shafts in mine, and elected to not buy the C-Clip eliminator kit because even if you break an axle it won't come out of the tube because of the brake caliper will hold it in. I'm interested in finding out too. I wonder if you can get chromo shafts that don't have the C-Clip elimination done to them?

For me the little extra ($550) to eliminate the c clip, widen the axle about an inch and upgrade the stock flanges along with having upgraded axle shafts just seems worth it. But who knows, I know the stock shafts are pretty darn strong.

Im fairly certain they have chromoly shafts without the c clip eliminator done to them. Atleast I'd think so.. Let someone chime in
