Thanks guys.

I don't think I updated this thread on a couple recent purchases. Since helping install Savvy's Underarmor on another TJ, I've been thinking about it a lot. I wanted to swap out my steel t-case skid for a separate crossmember and custom aluminum flat skid (copy of my steel skid). I was planning on ordering parts and doing that myself when Gerald @ Savvy announced that they would be selling a one piece skid with the trans mount and crossmember as a separate kit. That basically sold me and once I got the price, I jumped on it. I couldn't do a better job for less, that's for sure.

So I installed the Savvy crossmember last night and the skid will be here sometime next week. I wanted to wait on getting the exhaust done until I had the crossmember in so that the exhaust shop wouldn't have to worry about dropping the skid and maintaining proper drivetrain height for the exhaust hanger at the trans mount. She's ready to go to the exhaust shop Friday and aside from waiting on a couple new Currie TRE's to show up, it's ready to go. I'll grab pics of the crossmember this weekend.

The second purchase is a PSC steering box. I found a nearly-new one fairly local (super rare to come by) and jumped on it. I'll order the rest of the steering components throughout the next couple months and probably hook it all up in the spring. I'm planning on going with the following:

PSC CB pump
PSC remote reservoir
Savvy-modified ram for TJ-specific throw
Blaine's ram mount for the drag link
Derale cooler with TJ mount
TJ-specific lines and fittings from Blaine

For the axle mount, I've got a thick copy of the stock steering stabilizer mount. It fits nicely and I'll gusset it to support the ram pressure for when I add it. I plan on welding that up tomorrow morning before lunch.

I'll take a picture once I get this thing cleaned up and ready for real pics. The assembly is bolted to the bottom passenger side of the tub right behind the rear axle. It's clean, simple, protected and easy to access if needed.

I only chuckle when people spend money on fluff and crap that doesn't do anything functionally. Unfortunately, there's a lot of that on here. Thanks man.

My bumper is just a glorified winch plate sitting in my garage at the moment. As you can see, I don't place much value in bumpers. I place a lot more value in lightweight, high-clearance, simple no-frills solutions. Combined, my front and rear 'bumpers' weigh about 30 lbs.

I like that. That's why mine is frame width with a "stinger" tube. That's just added for the DD aspect around here. I know your views on them however.

Your build is always centered on being smart concise and efficient with exactly what is needed. Good stuff.

By the way really like what you have done in the last 6 months or so and overall with your build. Something most guys can't do is plan ahead.

Ok. That sounds good. Are you gonna at least put a piece of steel across the front? I sure you know but hitting the front tube head on is not a good thing. lol

It holds up just fine.......

But yes, the bumper covers the crossmember. Don't worry.

Whats all this nonsense with the new build only being photographed on the road, parking lot, or garage ? We need to see pics to make sure it actually works for what it is intended for.

Just messin, the jeep looks great!
