My diy tow strap dispenser

I started cleaning the garage and as soon as this came into my hands I knew it could be put to use. Just added some two inch square tubing and drilled a hole for the pin.

I like it, keep it nice and tidy. That will also extend the lfe of the strap by keeping it from fraying.

I have four straps but no handles. A piece of metal bar works just fine though.

It looks nice, but it isnt designed to be tugged against. The flatbed ratchet that you made your tow strap holder out of is designed to just hold tension on the strap.

If you tug on it hard enough it will fail where the strap threads thru the spool in the middle.

But it does look sharp, I tried this once before since i have been pulling flatbeds for about 25 years. once you tug on it hard enough, the center bends and then you cant rewind the strap.

And since you have yours mounted horizontal instead of vertical like it was designed, the first good bump you hit will unlatch it and your jeep will grow a tail. with the strap flapping in the wind behind you.
