if you're careful you could get under it with a razor knife. if you end up nicking the clearcoat you can wet sand with 2000 grit and polish it back up. but if you get under the clearcoat you're screwed. be reeeal careful hahahaha

nice build btw

Thanks I did use a razor for most of it (not the part from the picture). But stopped when I got real close in fear of messing up the paint.

A guy from my club was suggesting a 3M adhesive remover so I'll give it a go and let you guys know how I make out.

Thanks.

use an adhesive eraser wheel from 3m they are magic! put it in a drill and spin it off. just make sure to spin it slow.

The 3M stuff seemed to take it right off with some elbow grease. I only tried it on a small spot so more to come. I need to get a soft rag before I go to town. Thanks a ton guys!

Oh and I looked for the 3m wheel and couldn't find it. Thanks

QUESTION for you all.

I wanted to wait for Rock krawler to come out with their new steering set up before upgrading. But every time I talk with them it doesn't look to promising that its coming out soon. With rausch Creek trip right around the corner I'm a little worried about running the stock steering set up. Should I just jump on the currie band waggon now or try to hold of a few months? Basically how much abuse can the stock set up take?

I have the stock steering and its taken some abuse from rocks. Either being rammed into or dropped on. there's a few dents and a chip. I've looked at the currie set up and I've read some great reviews. I know imped runs (did run?) It and loves it.

Thanks a lot. I'm really not worried about using the lockers in 4 high until I at least upgrade the axle shafts. 4 high and fully locked equals broken stuff in my mind unless your just playing in the mud.

On another note: Bad news I didn't build the front bumper with anti rock in mind. Time to build a new front bumper.

Question for you, are your metal cloaks aluminum or just the regular fenders ? Your jeep is looking great by the way. I'm starting on mine this summer.

My stock steering has taken a beating & still lives on! I am kind of curious, this is by no way criticism or anything, ur Jeep is bad a$$! Do you plan to cut off the extra sheet metal under the new rear fenders or paint the under panel of the body black so its not a noticable different shape hanging down under the rears? Only ask because I intend to get rid of my plastics & when I do I am curious if you can remove the excess body material without consequence like mud coming uip inside the tub etc?

Thanks guys! Yes I am going to paint under the fenders. The weather is just getting warm enough to paint outside. I'm thinking I should have some time in the next couple days before my cruise. I'm also going to touch up the frame.

I have thought about painting under the fenders on the body and probably will. Just takes some guts painting on a vehicle with 15k on her. But hey I've gone this far.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

On other news I tried to install my antirock. And the end of the bar is damaged. I called currie and the are sending me a new one! They said it could of got damaged in shipping. Awesome customer service!

I also ordered currie steering the other day so more to come on that.

Picked up steel for the new bumper and rocksliders. Oh and some DOM for the sliders.

Oh yeah you can trim quite a bit the whole way around but the bottom front part if you trim that your going to be in the tub but nothing a little sheet metal can't fix. You can take your liners out and easily put them back in if you want to check things out. Worse case you would have to buy a few new snap screw things From the hardware store. Only thing with leaving them out is I guess they can get quite loud with rain and rocks.

Just a random picture I took. How do you guys think a roll on paint might look on the frame? I want to clean up and paint the frame before the few small spots of surface rust get bad but I'm not sure I'm digging the spray paint and I don't think I want to bed line it.

Meh, I use spray on bedliner on the fender wells for my JK and just spray painted the frame and under body where it was starting to rust from rock rash. I think it works just fine.

Well I am for sure on the color me green side , looking at this build! Anything you do to the frame paint will be the same end result, pretty til it gets dirty. If someone has something to say about your frame looking crapy, just crawl over em Just think along the lines of whats easiest to keep up on cuz it will only be pretty for one trip & then its touch up time lol

God Bless, drink up, Rock on and keep it shiny side up!!

You are going to love the currie set up. It is such a big difference from the stock set-up. I have only had mine installed for a couple of days now but the on road performance difference is remarkable. can't wait to see it off road.

Subscribed...good job so far.
