In college I had a 94 xj with a 5.5” RK LA lift and loved every bit of it. Unfortunately I had to part with it due to lack of cash. Now that im 5 years past the college days and have a good job its time for another obsession. After looking for a year or so I found an 04 Rubicon with 14K on her that came with a hard and soft top.

Plans so far (subject to change a lot)
Metal Cloak Arched Fenders - Installed
Rear Corner Armor - Manufacturer undecided
RK 3.5" X Factor LA lift - Ordered
Shocks - Bilsten 5100
Tom Woods Rear Drive Shaft - Need to order after lift installed
1.25 Savvy body lift - Ordered
Savvy Gas tank tuck -
35 X 12.5 X 15R BFG KM2'S on black steel procomp rims - Ordered
Smittybult XRC 8 Winch - installed
Upgrade Brakes - Manufacturer undecided
Build front and rear bumpers myself - Front done and installed need to start back.
New rocker panel protection - Manufacturer undecided
Line X bed -
Gearing-

Thanks. I have a national grid company pick up which is my dd. The four door Titan is used for towing my boat and rhino the jeep is just for four wheeling and nice days.

I did not have to remove my window or door hinges but if I were you I would start spraying them daily with PB blaster if you have any doubts. Also make sure you use the correct size socket right off the bat.

Over the weekend i found time to finished the front bumper and installed the winch. The winch was a breeze to install and very self explanatory. The bumper took around 8 hours for my buddy and me to build. We first took some plastic board and mocked up what we wanted it to look like then we cut up, welded and grinded the metal smooth. Overall it came out great. Sooner than later im going to get a small bar bent up to go over the winch.

Sorry for the crappy final picture when we got done with mounting it it was dark out then we went wheeling. But when i thought about it i am only home when its light out on the weekends so i rinsed it off and took a picture in the dark anyway. Ill post a better picture this weekend from a futher distance.

Oh i also have to lower the fairlead mount a bit right now i have it centerd with the spool but i think it should be lowered becuase the cable spools off the bottom.

Rock krawler called a little bit ago......MY LIFT IS IN. Im going to pick it up on my way home from work tomorrow. So over the weekend ill rip my rear axel off and bring it over to rock krawler to weld the cradle on. I can weld i just dont feel comfrontable welding on my axels or frame. Then I just need to find time to install the lift.

Rubicon don't need SYE's. They have a flang output.

As a fellow Rubicon owner I'm curious to see how you like your new set up. A couple or friends of mine run the RK long arm kit and it works awesome on both of their Jeeps. Good luck with your build! That front bumper came out really nice by the way! :thumb:

Nice rubi and nice build, should be a badass rig when you're all done with it. I had a similar situation, had a jeep in college, sold it, missed it, and just bought an 06 rubi this past weekend...only i was lucky and only had to wait 2 years after graduation :D Cant wait to see the progress, keep us updated
