Well Friday went exceptionally well, I was able to get the lights on the tub trailer wired and tested an all worked great, I headed down to the trailer supply shop and picked up a 2" hitch, some safety chains and pin, I made the hitch and towed it with my spare tire from my jeep and my next door neighbors spare doughnut off of his mustang down to Americas tire and had the wheels and tires put on it, I did however order 3 but do to budget cuts and lack of funding I was not able to get all 3 on Friday, I'll just have to wait a month or so for the cash to afford it.
I took the trailer this weekend to the Dunes and it towed and functioned very well, I had zero problems with it and it made the trip much easier I had my wife and 3 kids with me, Now I can turn my focus to the body armor to match my Jeep and them on to painting it to match, I can say however that I do not care for the YJ flares on it and hope that there are some aftermarket ones available to match my factory TJ ones, because its my understanding that the TJ rear flares will not bolt up to a YJ tub, thoughts anyone???. enjoy the pics, thanks again all for checkin out my progress.

@ Jeepers92 ~ With a load it pulled awesome and did not skip a beat, I ran 55 to 60 mph all the way to the coast (about 2 hour drive). However when empty as I was going down a large hill it had a very slight wobble to it, I beleive that it will go away when I add the front body armor to it because it will add tongue weight to it. I actually am using it tonight as well, I have it hooked up to mamas Mitsubishi Montero, I did some trimming and pruning on our trees today, this is a great little utility trailer and I'm starting to love it. tomorrow morning I'll haul the limbs to the dump.

I e-mailed with the fab shop today, I am going to swing by there on Monday and I'll have the components to my body armor made, hopefully by the following weekend I can start with some assembly and fabrication of my body armor. The lower armor/sliders are going to take on a very similar appearance to my ARB sliders currently on my jeep, and be positioned front of the flares and the front face, while the upper will also have the appearance of the ARB's and circumfrence the tub and provide a base mounting point for a tent and also removable side rails for increased hauling capacity (like brush and treelimbs n such). after the body armor is made its off to paint and Line X.

Ok guys just a short update; The body armor is coming along there are pieces being made at the fab shop that mount to the body once those are made the tubing work can begin, also will be picking up my spare tire tomorrow, that will be nice to finally see, and will also be picking up one of the parts that I had to have machined from a local machine shop for my off road hitch, I have an opportunity to go play up in the woods on sunday and want to see how it truly does off road. will post pics soon.

I picked up some TJ flares on CL for a great price, they are sun faded but nothing a little paint won't spruce up. Sunday was such a great day I decided to get them mounted on the tub trailer and also had time to trim the trees in the back yard, this morning I hauled the trimmings to the paper mill, what a great little utility trailer this is turning out to be . Last year when I trimmed the trees I borrowed my neighbors truck to haul the limbs away. Not this year! I followed up with the fab shop and they have my body armor templates on the lazer cutter for this week, I cant wait to get those parts so I can start building body armor.

Nice job,,, check out mine,, I'm really happy with the custom tarp, and it is water tight!! Aluminum floor, and future aluminum sides,,Thought about solid lids, but they always seem to leak after lots of off road flexing... Once again,, nice job!!

Great work to both of you. I like both designs but I would want a hardtop for security. Good news is showed the wife the pictures and now she wants me to build one to match the new JK. I may bug you both for help when I start the project. Thanks for the great work and ideas.

It is a shame we must all be concerned with security. I just avoid cities. Like my grandpa used to say,, if a man steals a shovel, then Hells bells, he's dumb enough to use it!!

@ JK Raptor ~ thanks man, well we may just get to build JK tub trailers together, I'm going to look at a JK rear section this weekend for a possible purchase to make into a tub trailer, I thought I could build one up and try to make a little extra $ to help out.

Wow very nice build! I laughed at the fact that on one post you had a skinny spare tire, and on the text post you had it with no tire on there! I have to say that is a good choice!

I know, looks kinda funny huh? I did'nt have the $ to buy the 3rd (spare) tire at the time, and was going on the maiden voyage, a weekend trip to the beach and didn't want to get stuck without a spare, fortunately my neighbor is a car guy and loaned me the spare tire out of his fox body mustang. I since have picked up the 3rd tire and now it looks much better. It kinda had a little brother trying to grow into big brothers pants kinda look.
