Plastic Rear Fender Liners, undercoat or Bed Liner?

I'm re-building my '87 and was wondering what everyone is doing in the rear fender wells. The factory plastic liners seem like they would hold in mud and moisture leading to rot. Does anyone recommend ditching the plastic factory liners and going with undercoating or bed liner? Just looking for suggestions.

Thanks,

Joe

I think most hardcore wheelers remove them just so that they don't have to worry about popping any off..I'd check with your states laws on fenders first to be safe though.

Thanks, I'm just gonna vertically file them. I figure there's enough potential for rust without plastic to hold in the moisture.

Nice, I like the idea of gaining wheel clearance with out lifting it. I will be taking mine off when I roll it w/ the bedliner stuff, then I might just leave em off.
