Man, sometimes I feel fortunate to be from CA and don't have the rust issues that effect other parts of the country. Looks like you are making good progress though. Good luck.

Jeff

I fell behind this weekend, I only got to work on the frame today, only have to mess with the cross braces everything else is all patched up. I just have to use a hole-saw to get the rear shackle mount in the frame and a body mount.

I was able to use our new Millermatic 211 autoset which worked spectacular well on new metal not so much on dirty old metal.

Tomorrow I get to buy some paint because I sold some ford lift brackets that I had laying around. I am getting a gallon of rusty metal primer and gloss black rustoleum paint to coat the frame, just going to brush it on so it is thicker.

Waiting on pics until I finish and and then paint it.

Question. Need opinions. I am considering sticking with the auto trans that I have in my parts jeep. How stong are they and how well do they last/ perform?

I am kind of on the line whether I want to keep the auto or go with the original plan to do the AX-15.

I finally got some rust-o-leum from my work to prime and paint my frame, I have yet to finish up the frame because I got switched to nights this week and have been sleeping most of the day. I will get the ball rolling tomorrow, but I will be lacking sleep for a couple days.

Seems how I am behind I might as well get the hole saw out and do the body mount I fixed and the frame/ shackle mount. I will also have pick up some metal from my work too to do the cross braces/ "bumper" area. So hopefully all welding will be done tomorrow and degreased. I now have to reclean my frame because I waited too long before I could put some protection on it.

Well plans have changed somewhat. I am no longer dealing with my other frame and I am just going to work on the "parts jeep" and just make it work. Just going to cut the two good ends off of the other frame.

I started to deal with the rust on the body on the 93 and stealing metal from the 91.

I may take measurements from the bare frame to fab up my own frame out of 1/4" because what I was working with on the stock one was very thin. This will be a side project once I get the 93 moving to have some fun while its warm out.

Almost have the passenger side of the tub all cleaned up and no rust, pictures will be when I finish that side and grind the welds smooth.

I have yet to finish the passenger side, but I got the metal as straight as I can get. Once I do the floor on that side, I can put some body fill on to make it near perfect; could have used all new metal but had to cut someout of the old tub so it would still say Jeep on the side.

I fixed the passenger door so it will open from the outside.

Dude, you got a bigger set of bawls than I do. Looking at the rust on the body would have had me running, knowing that what is seen isn't anywhere near what can't be seen.

You seem to be making headway with all of it. Will be watching to see the final result. Best of luck to you.

The flares and steps hide a lot, the body is better than the last one I did. But the frame on this one is way worse.
