I picked up a set of rusty poison spyder trail corners with round led tail lights for a very good price. After hitting them with an angle grinder and knotted brush for a decent amount of time it appears to be down to raw metal..... However, the metal still has a rusty patina to it. The surface was worse than expected and pitted.
Question is, will they retain this patina, or should I be grinding away more to get them back to silver?
After a degreasing wash and wipe down with mineral spirits, should I just shoot them with self etching primer? Or would there be a good inhibitor to add first?
