I needed extra room to haul my camping gear so I could take my pups on trips, and as you know, a TJ is limited on room, so with the help of some good friends, we acquired two YJ tubs and went all Frankstein on them. Here's what we started with.
Another gracious donation from jeep friends, some scrap diamond plate aluminum. I'll use this to create some corner armor and cover fuel door holes and such.
That's really cool, what an awesome idea. Too bad you can't,(or maybe you can) keep a tank for either water, or extra fuel. And too bad I don't have the tire carrier anymore you could have a spare, spare. I can't wait to see this finished.
Thanks! I considered the fuel/water storage idea, and due to time constraints and budget on this project, I may save that idea for down the road as this trailer evolves.
Do you have a build thread or pics of said trailer? Would love to see it! Just got back from a shakedown 3 day camping trip. Trailer is too tongue light and waggies at hwy speeds. I need to add a tongue box with some front weight. Might also lower the ball mount a little to see if it helps.
Looks really sharp. I love how "right" it looks with your Jeep. If I had 3 thumbs, you'd get 3 thumbs up!
