At SEMA last year the next big thing was painting your car to look old, faded and rusty. On some of the old school hotrods it looked cool. Looked dumb on a mid 90's Vette.

Yeah I would agree with that, but on a jeep where we all know the rust prone areas I think it would be fun. I had thought numerous times about doing it, but I think on a driver I would eventually get tired of it.

I was watching a show with a old mercury. It had a bunch of surface rust and the paint was in patchs. They knocked of the loose stuff and then just clear coated it. Looked amazing.

Like what car builders are doing now. Calling it "rat rod". I think it would be cool. The moss would be a good touch as well.

Well, after looking a couple of times, I was
going to suggest a broken tooth or two and
some metal filings in the bottom...
:-)

(hmmm, now that I look more, the "out of oil" look
should be effective too)...

The covers are missing the copper line for the ARB lockers?!?!?!
Seriously they look great that's what I thought you had in mind when you said he was going to paint them.

It kinda was but it's a lot nicer than I'd hoped and that costs time and money. I need about 4 of me and 4 times the cash to do things faster
