I worked yesterday on adding to the factory rollcage. I originally was going to build one from scratch, but this will be fine for the kind of trails this rig will be seeing
Another 20 feet of tubing and I will have it done...

I will prolly paint it like his was but with painted eagle and letters verus a sticker.....I am thinking about other colors as well, but for some reason I keep thinking white will be the best.

If white is good enough for Daisy Duke, well then it's good enough for me...

Incredible work. We have talked on the phone a couple of times, and you are WAY too modest about what you have going on. Thanks for patiently sharing some of your knowledge with a rookie like me, and I will be down to see you soon so you can hook me up with a decent frame. And I want to see that sick thing you are building!

Yeah I know, I read the marks wrong and made the first bend too sharp and thats what I ended up with. If I try to bend it now it will make the whole thing too short and I really dont wanna make two more for something that trivial considering this is not a rock rig I may cut one loose and see if I can fix that easily, it does bother me lol

This project is coming along nicely! I like what you're doing with your cage. It's real similar to what I have in mind for mine. I'm waiting on a buddy to fit my Jeep into his work schedule so we can build mine. Did you plan on any frame attachment points for that cage? It probably isn't necessary if you aren't planning on wheeling the snot out of her.

this and i feel like the bottom looks weird, seems different going up under the floorboard like that instead of farther out, if that makes sense

I have the steel to make the frame tie-ins, but I dunno if I am gonna mess with it. There comes a point when I need to stop with the crawler crap lol

Yes and I did that to allow easy access to get in and out. If it came straight down, that really makes it hard to get your feet around My buds crawler in the shop is like that and I hate it.

Well after a few beers this weekend I decided I hated the way it looked at the top of the dash bar so I cut it out and redid both sides and it came out alot better. I also had a wild idea of bending some tube for a built-in soundbar in the cage as well.

Your not worried about diaganols behind the seats are you, still need back seat access.
Like the sound bar hoops..

Looks great so far. I like the lower bars bending towards the firewall under the dash. The poison spyder mounts I used cut down on let room. What are you planning for parking brake access...maybe a hand lever? Are you planning on a back seat? Watch your head room if you are as that crossbar will be close to taller heads. I bend mine up a couple inches but kept it as close as possible to the soft top when I fold it down.

I like the white color idea for the golden eagle. Thanks for the updates.

I put Mico brake locks in every rig I build, especially since I disc brake all the rears and the stock lines are not there when you do that.

Not worried about the diagonals for three reasons: Rear seat access, the stock cage didnt have them, and this is not a crawler

Headroom shouldnt be an issue since my rear upper bar is about 6 inches further back than yours is. I am 6'3" and got in the rear seat before I welded the bar in and it was about 3 inches over my head.

Looking at your old picture, i would go with the white. It looks cleaner even when filthy.

Great work, the cage is plenty strong with out diagonal behind seat for sure, like you said its a mall crawler.
