Project Shadow ( 83 CJ7 build)

so ive been blessed with a a good kind blessed soul that started to part out some of his 83 cj7.he had a heart attack while working on the cj.
he decided to put it up on craigslist for free yes for free. i sent him an e-mail and didnt get a response for about 3 days. he called me up yesterday while i was fishing and said he would give me everything he had. i flipped out and was so excited. a forum friend lent me a flat bed trailer. i went over to day and expected just a rolling frame and tub but he had everything!!!! sadly the load was too much for the blackhawk_tj so my buddy who helped me load the cj7 hooked up his chevy and towed her home. we had every look giving to us going across town. from wtf to thats amazing we even had a jk owner lady go crazy waving and i yelled look at my new baby and she flipped out and yelled i love your cj and it was good. so i got my project for free its going to get alot of love from me behold my new baby 1983 jeep cj7 enjoy

it is a cj7, it's no wonder he had a heart attack . looks like you have a nice project ahead of you. take it from someone with experience, you will love to hate this thing.

Yikes a Swiss cheese tub of rust, your welder is gonna have a nice amount of hours put on it.

But good luck, I would love to have that as a project.

Welding up rust is best with a mig welder. Needs to be turned to a low setting. I suggest cutting out past the bad and replace as needed with good.

Stitch around to keep the heat low to reduce warping. It takes time and a lot of practice. You get n a hurry you will regret it.

Looks good! I'd love to start from the ground up on a CJ7. I've built and rebuilt just about everything on my CJ, but doing it all from a frame off style rebuild would be ideal. Can't wait to watch the progress!

so today a friend and i ( same friend the one that crashed his tj owner of Project Resurrection ) worked on the cj. we worked on the body some found some really weak rust which came off with a small amount of effort. then removed the tub and worked on the rear end of the frame. i well have to cut and weld the floors and fiber glass the sides. here are the pictures... enjoy

here's the rest from today i had waves of rain ( pretty hard rain) start coming my way again. so i packed up and put everything away and covered the tub. heres what the tub looks like so far behold my box of swiss cheese. the tub is on a trailer and straped down so if i wanted i can move it when ever.
