So, I've been struggling with a part of the cage, and have been putting it off until now. The part that I'm having the issue with is what to do with the back cross bar and C-pillars. I have been going back and forth of what to do to add some support to that back cross bar. Here's what I came up with; its the bar that looks like a continuation of the angled spreaders above the back seat area, connecting the cross bar (horizontal bar) to the C-pillar.

Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm not sure I'm liking it 100%, but its the best I've come up with so far.

Do you plan on running a soft top with that cage? The only option I see besides what you have done is go with a straight down the side.

Its a tight fit, but the factory top still fits.

The way I did the tubes is growing on me, so we'll see. I'll leave them tacked in place and try to come up with something else.

I actually like the way it looks myself. I'm thinking about adding a bar between the driver and passenger tied into the bar behind the seats and running down to the frame where the seat is mounted for just that little extra. Would also serve as an armrest.

My ATX Motorsports frame brackets finally came....

Mocked in place...

Super easy way to do a back half of a TJ frame....

Love the work that you have done but a quick question is how do you get into the backseat with a soft top on?

Back seats are child size suspension seats, so I won't be getting back there....or any adult for that matter. The soft top will still fit, but I don't plan on running it much, mostly just a safari bikini. So, my son can just step in over the tire...

Got a few hours this weekend to work on this. So, a little update:

Took the new frame section off and welded up the pieces and also to the 2x3". Made a couple body mount brackets for it, as well as the skid plate/fuel cell mount. The frame section is upside down in the pic....

slid onto the old frame....need to weld the new to the old...

Another shot of the skid plate. There's more work to be done on the skid, but the basics are there...

That skid plate is the fuel cell skid plate. The cell is 9" tall...will come up into the tub about 5" with a cover over it....

How many gallon is it? What motor are you running in that rig by the way?

I have to say this is probably one of the best builds going on right now. I check up on it daily to see if any progress has been made.

Nice Fab work. Its hard to tell but it looks like you did some TIG work on the tube fenders. Having a tubing bender and welder is on my list for future tools

Little update:

Got some CNC cutting brakes and mounted them to the cage, where the OE e-brake lever would be.... thanks shane!

Also cut the tabs off the fuel cell and set it down in its spot to be able to make the cover for it;

Got one rear coil over hoop done, still need to tie it into the plate on the C-pillar of the cage;

Got my rear coilover hoops done and tied into the c-pillar bottom plate....coils for the coilovers came in so I put a lower coil on to double check clearance.....

pulled the hoops back off to paint and they will be put back on and finish welded to the frame tonight. Coilovers installed, and sitting on the ground hopefully later this evening.

Here's what it looked like before I pulled them off to paint....
