Sprayed. I used the duplicolor spray gun that they sell....it has a tube that goes into the gallon of liner, and then an air chuck for your airline... needs a minimum of 30psi

Looking good. Hows the 60 front going? Are you going to run it full width or shorten it down.

the 60 is just sitting on jackstands right now. The plan is to narrow it a bit, probably to about 67" WMS to WMS. There's talk of width restrictions being put in place here in the Northwest.

Been a little slow on the updates, been busy with work and trying to figure out our move down to Portland, OR. Wanted to get the cage done and the interior put back together before we move, don't want to lose a bunch of stuff in the move.

Got the cage back from the powdercoater:

Im setting it back into the Jeep tonight....

I got the cage set into the Jeep....went smooth until the end....had to lift up the back end to get a wire harness out from under it and the dash bar pushed against the windshield and put a HUGE spider web crack in it....

Then, I noticed this on my truck....exhaust hanger ripped off and took a chunk of pipe with it. :bang: Just one more thing to fix before the move.

I figure Id give some sort of update since it's been a while. The Jeep is still buried under boxes from the move, so I've just been collecting parts for the front D60:

Bobby Long spindle bushings (replaces bearing) and grease tool;

Yukon 35 Spline chromoly outers

Detroit;

Rotors for the rear 60/14 bolt hybrid and wheel studs;

Artec Industries high steer arms showed up

Just need to get an install kit for my gears, and order the front truss (Artec full truss) and I should be ready to build the front 60. Im sure there will be a few items Ill need along the way like brakes, but for the most part the big stuff will be out of the way.

Another update...moving along slowly;

I got my artec front D60 truss, no pictures of it but this is from their site:

I got my front D60 cleaned up, old brackets ground down smooth, and I cut about 1.5" of the cast portion of the diff off on the drivers side to make more clearance for link brackets.

Got the Tera60 back and its re-tubed with Ballistic Fab 14-bolt spindles on the ends. Its now 67" WMS to WMS...standard 14-bolt width.

I slid it under the jeep and put it on stands. Im thinking it will be back just a bit more, and the coilovers will mount just behind the axle tube using some Genright mounts. That will leave the top of the tube open for the bumpstops and make the coilover more vertical.

I also had my buddy drill the holes in the hi-steer arms and drill out the knuckles...

I just ordered my Blue Torch Fab caliper brackets, Artec Upper link brackets, and a hefty order from Genright of 8 johnny joints with weld in tube inserts....

Not sure if anyone is still following my build since it's taking a while, but here's an update;

Different parts are starting to come in for the 4link rear, and I was able to start assembling the Artec front Truss and tacking it together....

I also decided that I wanted to truss the rear D60....and instead of making my own Artec had a sale on their standard rear D60 trusses, so I got one, and figured I'd make it work on my Tera60. That truss will be here Friday.

I also ordered my frame mounted 4-link brackets from Kore4x4, which will make the setup very simple!

I also got my rock sliders cut, drilled with countersunk holes to match the Genright corners, and mounted up. Still need to do the tube.

Also sold my tires and had to snag some 5 on 5.5" wheels and tires for rollers on the front....

kjdavis,

I love this build. The rig is coming along nicely.

Do you remember where you got your tailgate and how much was involved in making it fit?

Thanks

I got the tailgate from a local Jeep scrap yard. It was very easy to install, since the CJ tailgate is the same height and width of a TJ. I added a piece of 3/16" plate below the tailgate and drilled & tapped the holes for the hinges. Pretty straight forward. Toughest part was figuring out how to mount the cables for when it lowers.

Things are going to start moving a lot faster now. I got my front and rear trusses and all of my suspension joints for the rear. I've started modifying the rear D60 Artec truss to work with my Tera60....

Got everything mocked up, control arms cut to length and inserts tacked in place. Genright axle coilover mounts, re-did the upper hoops and c/o mounting tabs, then took it all out to do final welding and ran out of argonne/co2. :bang:

Here's some clear pics of the rear....painted and back on the ground. Im going to turn the jeep around in the garage so I can start work on the front; front D60, LS1, TH400, Atlas, 4-link.....

Still got more to do on the rear like brake lines to the cutting brakes and bump stops, but its a roller now;

Looking good you should make some tube doors while at it. You ran the remote reservoir into the tub? If so I like it.

Yeah, the reservoirs go into the tub and mount to the cage. Not too sure I'm sold on the look of tube doors. I think Ill just pick up some soft half doors from Bestop in the meantime, I like how much more room they give inside.
