Question about rocker guards

Ok so i made my own rocker guards and have them all welded and ready to go. Now i am trying to mount them and this is where i run into problems. The double body panel on the bottom of my jeep is angled so when i try to use the body mounts the bolts are too short and the body pucks to reach up to the jeep. I dont know what to do now. I can cut the metal so it is not sandwiched in between the body and mount but then i dont know how to bolt it up to the bottom. Please help this is really frustrating me.

Pictures may help with what you are meaning...but why not get longer bolts?

I don't wanna do longer bolts because of how far the body mounts are from the actual body so the body wouldn't be resting completely on the mounts. The front body mount is about an inch short. I don't have pictures because I just took my slider off. It is modeled after the atoz sliders

Im trying to envision what your sliders are doing...cuz most companies build sliders fasten at the body mounts all the time. The ones I bought mount the same way and I didnt face any issues with short bolts and what not. All I had to do was trim the body lift spacers to compensate for the thickness of the slider.

Ok so that is exactly what i mean about fitment. the trimming did work. ok thank you very much! i actually just ended up cutting the steel so it goes around the body mount and am gonna bolt it through the floor. Again thank you!
