question on a chevy np241

quickly, i have a chvy np241 t-case. i dont have a front shaft yet. im trying to find what position on the CASE the selector has to be at for 2hi. now in 2hi the front flange on the case should be free spinning when not hooked up to a shaft, correct? i dont want to know where 2hi is at on the stick but rather on the CASE. THANKS!

I would think rotated fully counterclockwise. the 241 is exactly the same as a 231 just heavier, 241's went behind V-8s where the 231 went behind 4-6 cylinders. And yes the front output shaft should spin free when in 2Hi.
