semi-custom front bumper

Hello,

My membership is minutes old, I hope to somehow post a pic. My front bumper build is simple, cheap, and based on the stock bumper.

It's got Xtreme front bumper endcaps, a reciever for a portable winch, a steering box skid plate, OEM fog lights/covers, painted headlight bezels, and a custom bent hoop for a grille guard (mounted using the OEM tow hooks).

If you like what you see and have any questions I'll be happy to help.

Randy

AJ,

Two inch .125 tubing, straight length 45 inches, bent to 107 degrees. Mounted with a slight aft rake using the TLAR method (that looks about right). It's welded to a couple of plates and then mounted under the OEM tow hooks. It's REAL strong, a deer strike would make grille contact but it won't budge under a lesser impact/push.

The receiver for the portable winch is welded to the bumper and reinforced with 1/2 inch square stock triangulated to the OEM bumper mounts.

The stock bumper isn't that strong but with these mods it gained a lot of strength without gaining a lot of weight. Or spending a lot of money.

Great IDEA. So simple but yet it adds miles to the overall look. I am impressed and may have to steal the idea. Thanks for sharing
