I have no pics but Id suggest useing some 2"x2" square stock to build it from thats 1/4" or maybe 1/8" wall. Then build your basic truss, angle one piece on either side of the axle tubes and bridge the top accross the top of the diff., then take a piece of 1/4" plate steel and weld it to the truss at the top and drill holes so ti ties into the diff cover bolts (maybe liek the 3 at the top). Thats what my FT truss does and its been plenty strong. Its on my D44, under my TJ obvisiouly.

that last one is stronger than the tube style because you gain all of the surface area of weld on the tubes not to mention it ties into the coil buckets

Trip, that is what's more comonly referred to as a wishbone style rear suspension. And as far as I know all of the ZJ's, WJ's, and WK's still use a rear trac bar.

weird. well thank you for the correction. I remember when i had my wishbone front end questions i searched for it and the Cherokee came up in the results.. i guess it must have been an aftermarket upgrade or something. Thanks for setting it straight. This is the image. |

The suspension that Goat uses is custom from TnT Customs.

How will a TJ with the proper length arms for 6-7" of lift handle with wishbone suspension?

I ran a version of that type of rear upper setup but I blew the joint out of it constantly so it caused a lot of clanking/rattling/squeaking. What Goat has there looks vastly superior to what I had in the past however. I also don't know about the anti-squat that is built into that type of setup. I currently have my upper joints setup about 12" apart to maximize the anti-squat. For what I do it works best for me.
Back on Topic. Hey Goat, how is that cradle set on the axle? I can't really see any welds or bolts.

I'll take a pic of the one in the driveway if you would like to see it.
It was only used in the GRAND cherokee 99 to 04.
And let me tell you what..It's a pain in that arse to get it set up if you lift it. Only thing they have on the market is a spacer If you lift it over 3''.

Also i saw the johnny joint placed vertical, not horizontal like goat has it. Wouldn't it be nicer if its vertical since you are putting the load in that loop vs having it on the 2 washers that hold the JJ together?

all i can say is that i can lift each tire about 42"s off the ground before another lifts or slides and ther is no bind in the johnny joint which is what i am running in the rear....my limiting straps stop it before it binds.......but like goat i will be going to 4 link b/c i am getting scared of breaking the wishbone an dhaving zero upper links in the rear......we carry a welder but i dont wanna break it past the point of being able to fix on the trail in a decent amount of time
