Simple Mods?

Hey guys I just literally emptied my bank account to buy my first wrangler (03 X) and I was curious what's the cheapest mod I can easily do myself? I should also mention I'm not terribly mechanical savy.

Thanks

Search "cheap mods" or Under $100 mods. There's a bunch of stuff. Obviously removing stuff is free, like steps, milk jugs, visor reversal, spare. Tinted tails, black bezels, tinted markers, grab handles, seat covers are all cheap, as are painted wheels, fender flares. Look around a little and you'll find stuff to keep busy while the bank account recovers...

the JK in your profile you can flip the rear-view mirror upside down. it is a major improvement on front visibility.

you can also cut the flares and make your own flat fenders. they look good too.

Looks like he posted the wrong year on his profile, because he doesnt have a JK. Its a TJ.

Ive posted a thread called Cheap Jeep Mods that a lot of people have put their home made mods in. Look it up

There are many. Like people said, the first thing I did was take the milk jugs off. Then some grab handles and some straps for the rear seatbelts so they don't flap. Mod your fog lights if you have them, stuff like that. I would do a tune up and some maintenence before any mods though.

Mine won't peel off. It's like they are heat sealed to the visors.

I bought some of the door edging from an auto parts store. The black rubber kind that you trim car doors with to keep from banging the car next to you. I trimmed the lower part and rear edge of all rour doors on my unlimited. Mostly I just didn't want to chip up the pain on the door edges, but I think it looks really cool as well. (I'll post a pic later). Total cost was around $10. I also trimmed the top and bottom edges of my tailgate, which means that I can have 2x4's sticking out the rear window without chipping up the paint.

I'd like to do this... looking for some online info/directions on it. Or could I expect some guidance from the auto parts store?

They are quite simple to put on... Most of them have a little compresser and airhorns that are attached with tubing... hook it up to your batterie through a relay and u have your 1 12v switch inside (make sure its a momentary switch or u will have a continous horn untill u turn it off with the switch agian...) Most of the airhorns have instructions in the packaging. Just make sure to mount the horns to point out the fenders in the direction u want the sound to go... they are quite directional.. u can hear them everywhere but they are the best if u are standing right in front of them.... And they do not like getting wet and full of snow... they end up sounding a little bit like ducks...

Thanks for the tips, I didn't realize that they used a little compressor; I got a tip saying air horns run around $15 but I suppose it will be more once the air compressor is factored in. For now I need to get my stock horn working again and then figure out what my next horn will be!

little ducks, haha
