Sport bar cage additions

Been busy the last two days, building some re-enforcement.
Thanks to "WELDZILLA", I have a way to melt the metal now.

My Harbor freight tubing kinker, worked about as well as expected maybe even better.
A "Rigid" pipe vise makes a nice workbench, but I'ma get the chain style aluminum one soon.

Nice that you have done it on your own, If I make a suggestion, your lower plates that you have bent to go under the rig need to be larger then the upper inside plates So in a Hard roll they do not Cookie cutter the tub. Also I noticed the kincks in the tubes at the dash. Those will fail in a hard roll. So just FYI.. Not picking just giving my race car side of experience.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

I am planning to weld two more plates to attach the kinked sections to the dash mounting bolts.

Also planning to tie in all six points to the frame rails, as soon as I get some more "steel funds".

Even the rear (kid crusher) support bars will get this treatment;

Although I may use my old track bars for this.

Also not planning to put this cage to any real use, just trying to increase my odds of survival in a slow flop, should that take place. No gonzo big air for me!

While I haven't tried the hardtop yet, I'm sure it will fit right over the extra tubes since they are well below where they would hit.

Soft top fit just fine, & I really don't use the hard top any more since I relocated to S.C.
