Exclamation Stinger front bumper?

Hey guys I have a 04 LJ and am looking for a stinger front bumper. Anyone have any advice on what type I should get. I am debating between a SmittyBilt and a OR-FAB one right now but dont know. Need advise and wondering if there are any other options out there for stingers.

J that stinger cant be functional. It looks like it would bend in a good bump. Have you had any problems with it?

I really like stingers if for nothing more then just to look good. I know smittybilt usually has some good reviews on thier jk line so id assume the same for the lj

Look into metalcloak stingers. They're beefy and the bumpers are fully customizable.

Check youtube. There are tons of vids of PS stingers being used hard! Seems to hold up very well. Could be wrong, but I thought I read that PS was one of the first to offer a funtional stinger.
I've got their RockBrawler front. It is very heavy duty...hope I never have to c how strong!

I think you can select an option to have them powder coat it for 30$ but I'm not to sure on that. When I got mine it was bare

It's saved me twice from my weight shifting downhill once and sliding off a rock once. Hasn't moved. I measured it to see if it pushed back, nothing. It also acts as a serious traffic deterrent. Haha

Kind of. The video and pics you see is with a stinger with a tie-in to strengthen it.

This is the best option to avoid an endo. No stingers mass produced today offer this option because there are multiple options and locations to do tie-ins and requires custom fabrication to do so.

This is mine. The tie-ins are on my to-do list.

To the OP, between the two I prefer the OR Fab. It's reasonably priced, very well made and the built in winch plate comes in handy. Once you add on your separate winch plate with the Smitty they're pretty close to the same price.

Check out the PS Rockbrawler. Has a stinger with pretty good gussets for strength. Love mine btw.

Thanks man, cant wait to get it. But question, I see you have a posion spyder bumper. Did you end up keeping it bare metal or did u powder coat it, or spray it with like rustolium spray paint?

Spray some Rustoleum bedliner on it, and you can just touch it up if you ever scrape it on a rock or tree

Mine has been at the painter for 3 weeks now!!!! Was absolutely promised today, but no call. Have used him a few times before, and great work. This will be the last tho. Ayway!
I've got the PS mack daddy Rockbrawler with a M8000-s. having it powder coated Rescue Green to match, with bed liner on the stinger. This will match my PS rocksliders.
I build this thing to look like a mall crawler, but use the hell out of it too! I don't mind spending the extra to repaint. If ur looking to get it all scratched often and don't want to worry about taking it in for paint many times, do as stated above and spray can it so it is easy to redo!
Enjoy it,
Troy

Stinger

I ended up with this setup - the bumper is a hybrid RR, the stinger is also RR but didn't fit the bumper, they were great about accepting responsibility for the mistake and sent me a return slip - so naturally I decided to cut 4 1/2' of plate / drill it and thread it / drill and thread the bumper and then decided to just go ahead and weld it on - it a little rough but I kinda like the way it looks - on anything but a jeep it wouldn't work!
