Question Swapping axles

I currently have a defective D35 and will be switching to a Chrysler 8.25. The drums were rusted on and I had to bust all the brake components off of the hub in order to get the drums off.

My question is this, are the brakes on a D35 the same as an 8.25? I don't want to have to spend $100 on parts if I dont' have to. Any help?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours... if you know what I mean.
