Well some new news. I got half of the 4" lift put on. I have to tighten a few bolts, put the new brakelines on and swap out the steering gear. I want to be done tomorrow. The back should be easier so I will probably be hung up on bleeding the brakes. So far I am thrilled about it, the Jeep looks giant now.

The front is pretty much finished, I just have to swap out the steering gears because I couldn't get either of the pitman arms off. Now I have to do the power steering resevoir because it broke while pulling the hoses off. I got the rear driveshaft unbolted, and the leafs pretty much all unbolted.

Question- When doing the 4" lift, do I have to put the t-case drop on? Is it necessary without getting a SYE?

Just got the rear on. I just have to do the rear shocks, rear brake lines, Bleed brakes, t-case drop, bolt up the steering gear, and put a new steering fluid resevoir. Oh and check all of the fluid.

Thanks.

Today was slow, but I did some stuff. I ordered the new steering reservoir, so I will be getting that tomorrow morning. What is left; the t-case drop, the brake line to the back, and all of the fluids.

some pics.

I got the power steering reservoir today and lucky me, it was wrong. So tomorrow I am going to the dealership to get one from there. So the only thing I have to do is bleed the brakes and put on the reservoir.

Yep, there's a whole world of work in those three letters.

Your Jeep is looking good! Way to much work for me. I don't even change my own oil.

Eye sore yes, in the summer I will wire wheel the frame down and paint it better, I just quickly did a coat of rattle can so it didn't look as bad.

As and Jeep owner knows, they are never "DONE"; mine is mainly done I have to redo the body, do the windshield frame, then the whole interior, but the first thing I have to save for is tires and rims.

It was way too much work, that is why it took me a week to get it done. It kept pissing me off; rust sucks, it makes everything worse.

The way that thing is now looks 120% better then what it did when you first got it seeing the difference the lift made in the ride height makes me anxious to get my 4 inch lift done with the 33's

Ya the lift is nice, it looks good. But I kinda hate it now, the Jeep rides soo stiff now. My last YJ I had didn't ride this rough.

Well the springs aren't exactly new. They were on a jeep for just about over 10,000 miles.

Getting close to being warm enough to redo the whole body; doing each side in one piece, from behind the fenders to the back corner of the tub. For sure doing the whole inside of the tub this year. Only thing I did lately was the front tj flares installed. Sorry no pic.

Well, I have an order of 5) 32x11.50 Goodyear MT/R's (old style) that will on their way soon to my jeep; so in about a month I should have em and for only 600 bux. Next I will have to find some rims.

My metal on the drivers side is breaking off, I did it all in MIG and had to do a lot of grinding. I am redoing it all this summer except this time I am doing it in TIG and just leaving the beads.

Got pics of something that is a new project, but its nothing that I wanted to do. Unfortunatly my shock tower tore right off of the frame, I was kind of irritated that it happened which is out of the norm becasue I usually don't care. Funny thing is, I thought I just hit a big pothole, but my tail end just lifted up off the ground like 5 inches. So now I have to fix that and see if I have a shock that will work.

I did the fronts so far, I had to trim them a little bit. I cut through the inner fender, so the outer sheet metal and the internal support have to be welded back together. I gained around an inch at the back of the wheel well and maybe 1/2 inch at the top in places.

Definitly better looking, but it can look bad if ya don't get them lined up the same on both sides which happened to me. Gonna fix that when I do new fenders.

Thanks, and I finally got a recent pic. Only because I put the rear TJ flares on. I hope the 32's that will be here on the 29th won't look dumb with such a huge opening in the rear.

Once I am all done with moving, I will be redoing the back of the tub. I have to do it now because the main support finall rusted through on the back corner; So the next update will be a big one.

A giant to do list for the next part of the project:

Inside floor above the tank has to be completly done
the sides of the inside will be done /back of the tub/
2x3x 3/16 support for the back
all new sheet metal for the back
shock tower/mount for the broken off piece
paint and install CJ tailgate
then round LED tail lights.
make a new rear bumper out of 2x4x0.25
repair rust hole in the frame in the back pass. wheel well area
new rims (same as I have) and mount the MT/R's
