finnaly feeling better ,must be the crazy weather ,working on the qtr cut prepping for install ,then a buddy runs this commander in for some needed attention. brakes almost flat tire and bid on spotting it in
this thing is trashed out.SOB runs good though .love how the calipers have Jeep casted in them. going to try and gett the cut at least clamped on today.
got an idea for this battered hood .more on that later.it is fixable .
painted this f150 hood , drove 3hrs to get hood and an adj trac bar. almost have all the parts now, get the ford done and get back on TJ. got another coming next week.:thumb:
The TJ ,weel she wrecked it ,slid off the road and wipped the qtr right off the thing .peeled the sheetmetal off ,ripped the spot welds clean, couldnt save it .
and the jeep hood was folded over the windsheild frame.
the Ford hood is a junkyard find and he didnt need just a gotta have it .small ding, other than that just a color match.was ford oval blue.
If it dose get some color they will probably use a vinal co geared toward aircraft.
12 yrs of rivitng and gathering each componet and here it is .got the airworthy cert last week .will be flying soon.
Nice Vans RV-7! I fly R/C and have a 1/4 scale RV-4. Love those planes.
I replaced the flares on my 97 TJ last fall and found rot in my tub, I'm gonna need the same thing done to mine, same side. That will be expensive but I'm hoping to get the whole thing repainted.
Yea Van really knocked out of the park with the RV series .I to fly R/C.but have gone to micro electrics. we kit bashed the RV-4 to harmon rockets
the beauty of the RV-7 is you can build it a bunch of different ways and get a fully aerobatic all aluminum 2 place beast for 50Gs
Im glad this girl isnt in a hurry.got the qtr fit and welded up yesterday.new trac bar going in and tank reinstalled today.
got another YJ to repair ,TJ will be on hold again till next week.
those small pin holes are from the damn seam sealer .I need to clean some more off the origanal panel and fix those burnouts
