Tj trunk box mod

I decided to take out my rear seats and build a pull out drawer for storage. Used truck bed spray but I might carpet it. Only down side is thy it a bit on the heavy side but its okay. Def worth taking the rear seats out. Also but tie downs up top to tie down cooler or anything else.

that looks awesome man. Couple questions for you:
Why did you cut that rectangle out if the top towards the front? and then in the next pic you it covered and two L pieces, is that just to make the back level with the wheel wells?

Thanks.

The rectangle cutout in the front is a lid so I can open an close it for that storage space up front.
The 2 l prieces were put it for more support (to store things on top) and to put tie downs into.

ah, makes sense. Im doing a drop down tailgate conversion on Tuesday. Maybe this will be my Wednesday/Thursday project. How long overall did it take you? total hours? What kind of wood is that? Looks just like particle board or MDF to me. what was your thickness on it?
