The shimmies have returned!

Just purchased: Rancho 7000 MT Steering stabilizer, Rubicon Express lower track bar bushing kit. Let's hope this keeps my steering happy as I drive with the Mrs. across the American Southwest this summer! Should be a big adventure! ::Stay tuned::

The Mrs. standing next to all of the latest modifications

Update

The Jeep made it around the Southwest without a single (steering-related) problem. Cooling became an issue with the 'CHECK GAUGES' light illuminating in temperatures above 80 degrees.

Arizona (near the New Mexico stateline along I-10)

Shimmy-free along the Rio Grande river (Las Cruces, NM)

Here, the oil pressure began dipping, but after changing to a Mopar Oil Sending Unit, it still did the same thing. Of course, this kept me on my toes throughout the entire trip.

Henryetta, Oklahoma at the Wal-Mart parking lot
No steering-related problems - good times on the road! Parked next to a local Jeep!

Vernon, Oklahoma

Oklahoma City

New Mexico - Sante Fe (land of the Subarus)

New Mexico - Farmington (parked next to a really-lifted JKU on 35s)

Farmington - driving past Harold Off's "Off Again" 4WD Jeep shop!

Jeep wave - on the Navajo reservation

Leaving Farmington, the back of the Jeep looked just like this!

Farmington - going after "that look" with 33s and lots of lift

New Mexico - near 4 Corners at KFC

New Mexico - outside Gallup
I made some new friends as we talked about Jeeps and Broncos with some really nice locals.

Shiprock

Winslow, Arizona

Grand Canyon photobomb!

The Jeep did great over 3,000 miles of roads and dirt trails. No shimmy problems to speak of thanks to the new parts and advice here on Wrangler Forum.

Mexico regear, lots of new parts

Later this week, I'll be driving down to Mexico with some new parts to install.

On the agenda:

Install Alloy USA 4.88 gears - Alloy USA Master Install Kits ordered
Install Alloy USA rear axles - I can install the front axle myself at a later time

On a side note, I have to get my on-board air system re-wired. It hasn't worked lately, and I will get a local mechanic to fix the problem.

So, stay tuned for some interesting thread content!

Today, I picked up my Alloy USA axle shafts. Everything else is tied up with the ports dispute, in Atlanta at Alloy USA or in transit.

My planned regear will have to wait until either next month or in Junen unfortunately.
