that is a very cool idea to run them all the way around like that for the protection and then strength.

I love that design! It looks so clean. My only issue with that (this goes against every Jeep doctrine... EVER) is if/WHEN you bend them. Even for something built for offroading, I'd keep it looking nice, and my first instinct would be to fix the bends and battle wounds, and it would be difficult to do with that design. Without a TIG anyhow. Just my .02. I realize that 99% of folks on here will disagree and say that battle wounds are cool, but I think that looking nice is cool too. Just me...

when you flop on your side every time out or go through obstacles such as can opener.....looking nice is not really an option

looks good flattie. i learned the hardway that tube work that ties only into sheetmetal is cosmetic only and doesnt offer much protection at all except in mild scraps. your setup that ties into the armor is much stronger

on another note i agree witht he carwash thing until more panels are dented than are not........with a little mud my jeep looks luxury...cleaned spotless it looks like a salvage vehicle.....its crappy that if you wanna make it up crazy climbs and trails that youve gotta trash a pretty nice vehicle.......i think im gonna clean it up and do a little body work before next springs trip and put a cool paint job on.....but its a big maybe

I don't think it looks bad at all from the photos. The body looks pretty straight and unmolested. The armor did it's job. Just needs a little high pressure washing to get the grime off. You should see some of the rigs here in AZ... rocks are not kind to the body panels. ANd sometimes even when they are armored. ha.

Hey Jack (1blkjp)... you've got any pics of joe's green TJ just before he switched to the new jeep or your jeep or Lance's or Fatbob309's old black jeep. Pretty much all of the jeeps we go wheelin in have battle scars. They have been through the grinder but are oh so pretty.

The tube fenders you've made reminded me of this setup

I like how you tied it all into the rock sliders. Looks like its going to be pretty tough.
