v8 gas mpg?

Reaserch what kind of MPG are you getting with a v8 in your wrangler? IM wanting to do the swap but was worried about MPG but i only get 15 now seems like it would be better with a small v8?

350 vortec gets that in my 99 tahoe at 6000lbs. My jeep isn't a good example for mpg, 8-10 max out of the 434. The power from the vortec is more then enough u can ditch the efi and go carb if your worried about the electronics.

I get 10-12 1998 TJ with Chevy 350 carbureted, turbo 350, 4.10 gears. Sure is fun though.

9 miles per gal, 383 stroker sbc (carb), 700r4, atlas 4.3, dana 44 with 4.88 and I'm running 36x13.5 Irok's. I roll across the scales at 4500 with my big butt in it.
I'm not to light on the gas peddle.

I'm in the process now... Blacksurt I just bought a SBC 350 all stock.. I am getting a th350 tomorrow.. And i have 4.10's... How much of a power increase do you think you got? Some people say it's not much more then a 4.0... Will sound nicer tho

My 4.8 LS1 in my extended cab 2005 silverado 1500 gets me 21mpg highway.

Id say around 20 in a Jeep.

I am getting 10-11mpg from a 355 SBC, turbo 400, 4:10's, 33" . The 3 speed tranny is what is killing the mpg. I figure 15mpg if I went to a 700R4, or 4L60E. Of course that is if I drive like I own it, instead of like I stole it. She gets thirsty when you start hammering.

That's not bad I'm on 38s with 4.10s turning 2700-3000 at highway speeds.

Thanks, but I'm not running a Monster motor like yours. I still want to drop in a 6.0 FI and a 4 spd tranny. I know that the carb is going to give me trouble when I get it at odd angles. How is your build coming. I am subscribed to your thread. I cringed when I saw your hood, after all your work and engineering.
