Yes I'm stationed at Sheppard right now. Assigned to Instructor Duty. I was at MacDill for 8 years and have been here for just over 2 years. My AFSC is Aircraft Fuel Systems.

Would love to see some pictures of yours, if you could get around to it. I have an '06 LJ and would love to do this swap as well. Been reading up on it for a good while now, only thing stopping me is $$$$ at this point!

Thanks!

XDR, followed this thread and you did a fantastic job. Sure sounds good, idles nice and smooth! Congrats!

I didn't see any mention of it in your past posts, but how are your laws regarding engine swaps in Texas? I am trying to figure it out for NC and exactly what they allow and do not allow. I haven't contacted them to find out yet, but I sure wouldn't do my swap unless I was assured it's going to pass muster with DMV nazis. I'm just confused at this point though!

Make some more videos!

I'm military and have it registered in Oregon. Therefore I'm exempt for emissions. Texas doesn't have emissions but does have a safety inspection. Some states allow you to register without being a resident, you may want to look into those if your state has emissions the jeep wouldn't pass, also may want to look into kit car emissions standards.

Just ordered the remaining stuff to make the jeep road worthy. Should be complete in about 2 weeks including exhaust.

I finally got some of my pictures together from my swap.
Here is a link: https://plus.google.com/photos/10696...73119024734401

My Jeep is tagged in Florida and there is no emissions check, if I installed the converters I think it would pass emissions anywhere.

I am finishing up the Air Conditioning hook up, hope to have it charged this week. After that it is cruise control hook up, mine is drive by wire so it should not be too hard to figure out.

Just found out some rules on emissions; engine must be made by same manufacture and offered in same vehicle class, must be same year or newer and vin must match vin on ecu. That is for 50 state legal, Oregon where I'm from has no emissions so I'm good for now

Got the 2" coils installed with bump stop spacers, shocks installed minus one of the rears that the top mount bolts broke. New radio and speakers installed. Novak intake installed. Just waiting on rear driveshaft to show up and make the vent lines for the t case and tranny then I'm almost 100% complete with the swap.

There is no such thing as 100% on a Jeep, especially a V8 conversion LOL

Novak intake? Does that mean its going be carb and not EFI ? (if thats been said previous excuse my missing it)

What did you do about the PCV hose that used to go from the valve cover to the air intake?

Planning for next stage.. Picking up an explorer 8.8 this weekend and a xj hp d30 next month. Both are geared in 3.73 which will be fine with stock tires for now.

it looks in way better shape than mine, are you going to rebuild it, or just brackets?

I might have missed it somewhere but did you completely remove the factory ECU and Harness replace it with the GM ECU and Harness?

Jeep ECU is gone, used partial jeep engine harness for fuel pump, backup switch, 4wd switch.
