I'm about to purchase a winch $300 8000lb Xrc or $400 8000lb warn is warn really worth the extra $100.00 or is Xrc a comparable winch and worth saving the cash for other add ons

Do a quick forum search. This topic has been debated a million times. I have a Warn and would recommend it to anyone. I don't have a Smittybilt, so I can't recommend it, nor can I condemn it. However, there is usually a reason for a product's price. A Ferrari costs more than a Ford Fiesta for a reason. Pay the extra $$ for the Warn and you won't regret it.

Why is this in the Builders corner?

Go warn if you got the extra cash. That new warn was made for no other reason than to be a rival of the inexpensive smittybilt winches.

The new cheaper warns I'm sure are great...wish they were around when I purchased my winch, but, I have a smitty xrc 8 comp and I have nothing but good to say about it. It has been a regular champ. I've probably had about 9 real pulls with it (REAL STUCK!), and while it's not the fastest in the world, it gets the job done. I wanted synthetic line also so in the long run the smitty was for me.

You are basically asking us to advise you on whether to purchase a Ford Focus or a Chevy Corvette...when you can more or less afford either one. Think about it...lol
