I have been working on changing the axles and steering in my 94 Yj. I went with a Dana 60 w/ 4.10 in the rear and a Hybrid Dana 44 with 4.10 in the front. Changing axles also means I have to change tires and wheels. Well I went to a 38X 12.50X 16.5 TSL that are being grooved right now and a steel wheel so I can weld on my beed locks. The steering is going to be a hand made High Steer. I had to cut the C's from the tubes and rotate them back, weld it all up and re-install axles ect... The steering arms are 1 1/2 DOM 1/4 wall and I am using 3/4x 3/4 16 pitch Chromoly Heim joints..
Here is a little progress. Hope you enjoy.
This is a semi-floater with c clip eliminators.
If I had not gotten the semi- floater at a great deal I would have went full Floater. The C clip eliminators are almost as good but you cant go wrong with a full floater.
Here it is sitting on its own weight. I have to finish the steering arms, bolt the high steer down, cut & weld my draglink, bleed brakes and Im ready for a test drive. I measured the height last night and the top of the windsheild to the ground is 7' 2" and the front and rear is 80" wide. I gained 3"s to the wheel base over all ,not much but some helps.
