YJ engine into TJ

So as far as some of you know, I have a 97 TJ that has a bad engine so I pulled that sob out. Now, trying to find another 97+ TJ 2.5 is damn near impossible. Does anyone know if the 2.5 out of the YJ will work. like a 93-95 YJ 2.5? From what I can tell from looking at my YJ and my TJ, the engines are identical. I don't see any extra sensors, nothing. I'd just like to get an answer from someone who has possibly done it or knows for a fact that it will work. I want to get this little guy back on the road!

Because of emissions you can't put an older engine into a new vehicle, you have to find the same year or newer. Plus I think there would be computer issues.

all of the emissions parts are still on the jeep. The 2.5 from the yj is identical to the tj. There are no extra sensors so the computer would have no clue its from a yj. The monitoring parameters can't be too different since all the sensors cross reference. i've done my homework here and i am a tech. i'm just looking to see if someone has actually done this swap to find out if they ran into any weird problems.
