YJ front bumper revamp

Im thinking of just revamping my factory YJ bumper, ya know the peice of steel in the front that does nothing but hold your plate, if you want I can post pics when I finally get around to it

mine got bent from wheeling, so i bobbed it even with the frame using a chop saw.

what your plan?

Just take and add a loop and some D-Rings and a winch plate after a bit of a cut job on the ends

oh and some rear bracing so it wont bend as easily and I need to find a way to make bumpstops for cheap too any ideas?

on my front end, i removed the original bumpstops, welded a piece of 2"x2"x1/8" tubing onto the metal side of them, then bolted them back into their original location.

on the rear i used 2" tubing on top of the spring plate.

i flexed it up to see where itd go, then bumpstopped it where the springs couldnt go into negative arch.

you can also make a decent bumper with your description, but use a peice of box tubing instead of the o.e. bumper. i can't remember what size, but something like 5x2 or whatever, and give it a nice angle cut on the ends, and shorter than the o.e, then add your stinger and d rings and such.

No stinger, just a grille and headlight protector bar Im not big on the stinger style that stick out 3ft infront of the jeep

Oh just when I see stinger I see the long loop that sticks out like 3feet at a 30 degree angle for sliding over the cracks and stuff of the artic
