Best Jeep Mechanic in the Maritimes?

Trying to find a good (aka honest, reliable, know what they're doing) shop to service 2013 Wrangler Sport in Nova Scotia.
Would like to know who is/are the good, the bad, and the ugly?

I don't have any first hand experience so take it for what it's worth but I haven't heard anything bad about CVO on Akerly in Burnside. There is also a 4x4 shop on the Cobequid road in Sackville that you could check out. Again no first hand experience

Thanks, I just looked up CVO on BBB, and they get a bad rating: F! Will try to find out the name of the shop on Cobequid. Thanks.

I'd stay away from APJ in Sackville as well. They do shady work there and will keep your vehicle for weeks longer then originally estimated. They come up with excuse after excuse as to why it's not done, or what's come up to delay the part. In the end, it's just terrible time management. To their credit, they'll get stuff working. However, the quality of the work and whether or not it passes inspection is another story. Great spot for jerry-rigging things or tackling projects nobody else is willing to try. Their prices are reasonable too.

Good to know. Where do you take your rig? I'm planning on doing most things myself but in a few years I might do a regear. Would be good to know of a reputable shop like the OP is looking for.

To be honest I haven't found a reliable Jeep-specific mechanic yet. I use Homestead Auto near Peggy's Cove for all my routine maintenance. The owner (Terry) is as honest and reliable as they come. He's always on time, the quality of his work is excellent and he won't try to up-sell anything. If it isn't broke, or there's a cheaper way--he'll tell you! Disadvantages: he's more expensive, always booked for at least 3-4 days so no next-day appointments, and doesn't have the same experience with tinkering/make-shift projets as the APJ guys have.

Anyone had personal experience with CVO? I planned on giving them a shot as I've heard good things. Surprised to hear about that BBB review.

The place in Sackville is APJ Auto. What are you looking to have done?[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the info re. APJ. Nothing fancy, just want to establish with a mechanic I can trust for non-warranty stuff.... I also need to establish with a service department/local jeep dealer for the warranty maintenance stuff.
I bought my Jeep from a NB dealer, so need to find a decent dealership/service dept here in NS.

You might want to try joining the Nova Scotia Jeep Club Message Board. They would have a lot of local info and be more province wide. Hope this helps

If your rig is new and under warranty you could take it to Dartmouth dodge or Halifax dodge

Well, I know APJ auto pretty well and they have never given me any trouble with repairs. Always on time and done right. I've had two front axles replaced there and the work was top notch both times, and the owner, Andrea, has always been up front with costs and even managed to find the second hand parts my older jeep needed. The shop only does jeep work, and there are many off-road clubs that swear by it.
