Hey everyone - Not new to the forums but new poster.
A couple months ago my '06 Rubi was hit in the right rear by a city bus (Portland, OR). Stupid $#^% was a driver in training and must not have noticed the BIG RED JEEP passing in front of him.....gaaaahhh, still makes me mad. He drilled the right rear, puncturing the tire, breaking the stock Moab wheel and moved the rear bumper up and into the body. It's driveable and looks okay (my spare is just one size smaller than the other tires). My mechanic can't assess damage to the rear suspension until it's been aligned, but doesn't think the axle was probably bent. Still going to get it checked. Needs 4 new tires (tread has to match), a wheel and fender - all of which I've got priced out, including bumper repair. I'm negotiating with their insurer cuz I don't want to make a claim on my insurance and suffer the premium increase.
My question: I'm trying to estimate diminished value prior to repairs being made - I can't afford the out-of-pocket for new wheel, tires, bumper, etc. and am making a demand to Trimet (bus) for the whole shebang. So pretend you're looking to buy my baby.....it's lowish miles (78,800) and sound in all ways except then you find out it's been in this accident. How much less are you going to pay? NADA book is around 11,350. All receipts for work performed after the accident are included with the Jeep so you know what work was done, including inspection.
Just trying to estimate how much less it's worth now. If I'd have to estimate, I'm going with $1500 less, but wanted other opinions. Thanks!!!
