1st time wrangler

well, i did it. got a 1993 wrangler. 4cyl 4wd 5spd. red with brown soft top.

got it on craigslist this morning for $1000 cash.

i just got back from kirkuk iraq 3 days ago, and this is my on post rat so my wife can have ''her'' car all to herself.

recent tune up- all fluids and filters, plugs, wires, dist. cap, and new clutch.

no leaks- that i could find yet

body and motor have 110k, tranny has 30k.

decent shape, the exterior is straight, the body doesnt have much rust, but the full doors have rust at the bottoms, and the back tailgate has rust..

top is 3 yrs old and has some patches from rips here and there. lucky for me the guys wife covered the patches with red white and blue butterfly stickers. yay.

dont know her too well yet, only put 25 miles on her today...

i have a bunch of questions but ill search for them first- im not new to forums lol.

only complaint i have so far is the heat kinda sucks.. i mean its not unbearable once it gets warmed up.. but this will be exciting having no vents to blow on me, only vents pointed at my feet and the windshield. it gets to -30 or so here at fort drum.

im just hoping she starts up tomorrow morning when i get up for PT formation. the terminals are corroded and the guage was reading a little low for the battery.

anyways, glad to be here! ill get some pics up tomorrow.

Welcome back stateside bro! I had to change out the terminals on my 92 also. Just make sure they don't have the acid build up on it. That was a problem I had with it.

let me preface this post by saying THANK YOU!!! i appreciate your selfless service to our country and for protecting my freedom and mty right to live, having never even met me. Thank you!!!

congrats on the new jeep. fyi YJ's are notorious for sucky heating capabilities. dont worry though you'll get used to it and eventually learn to love your jeep and all of its quirks. this is a great place to get info on jeeps and to get answers to any of your questions. Welcome!!
