2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport, Checkin In

So I've had my Jeep for a total of 3 days and am loving the snow here in New Mexico. This is my first Jeep, also the first time to ever drive a jeep. It has been my dream vehicle since I could crawl and after being in the military for 3 years and finally coming back to America 15 days ago, I finally bought one. So any one in the Alamogordo area of New Mexico hit me up would love to find the spots around here. Could also use tips, tricks and trades of the Jeep world. So I'm sure this forum is the right place for a newbie.
One down side to the snow, they're putting salt all over the roads here, which I know cannot be good for a new vehicle, but I hate to keep washing it, friggin love the dirty look of a Jeep.

Anyway, time to start sipping on some cold ones, pregame for the game.

Females ;)

Depending on your credit is what is going to determine what you pay a month plus interest rates. Not sure if the dealership you're talking with is financing through their bank or what. Your best bet would probably be to go through your own bank and you can go ahead and find out what you would have to pay per month for a 23 -25k loan.

Is this going to be your first Jeep, because I got your message while I was mudding and I'm frigggginnnn loving it!!!! Just need to get rid of these stock wheels.

I've got some questions I need to ask about the warranty and modding and upgrading things. Need to find a thread for that.

Love love love, the Jeep OlllllllO

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, but I think me and the young lady could both use a quick link for "first mods" on a new Jeep. Would be greatly appreciated. Or I can just continue to surf which is fun and I'm learning alot. Just need to find a 4x4 club around this area.

Welcome!

It may not be the most popular opinion on here, but I keep my Jeep immaculate. I have no problem getting it dirty, but I wash it off when I'm done, and in between I keep it washed and waxed. I want that paint to last forever, if I can help it.

My first mod to my Sport was side armor, and then grab handles. So far, I haven't needed anything more than that. I don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading, I like to wait until I see a need. I've found that the bank account appreciates that.

The 11th post below shows the side armor I chose:

Good luck.

Hey Jeff thanks alot for your ideas. I can't believe the only mod for you so far is the Rugged Ridge RRC Side Armor Guards, What size are your wheels, I know the stock wheels on my 11' Jeep are definitely going to have to be upgraded. I feel like they belong on a car right now.

I have the stock 32's on 17" wheels that come with the Sport S package. If you didn't get the S package, you'll have the smaller 16" wheels. Mine are fine for me, but I agree the smaller ones seem a bit TOO small.

Edit: Checked your profile, yeah you have the smaller wheels. Good news is that if you wanted to upgrade to the larger ones, people are getting rid of them all the time, so you can usually get a set for pretty cheap. Of course, if you're going even bigger than the 32's, it won't be worth it.

I think 32's would be perfect, considering it's not just a toy it's my daily driver. Just washed all the mud off of my JEEP for the first time and OH MY GOD, I never realized how much mud a vehicle could hold up under the carriage and shit., so I just power sprayed for like 45 minutes got all muddy myself while doing it and bought some good cleaning stuff from auto zone to wash it by hand later this week.

Welcome to the Forum!

My first mod was to move the side-view mirrors from the doors to the windshield pillars. When the snow goes away and that fabulous Southern NM sun comes out, you're gonna want to take the doors off.

Damn, dadrunamok.... I didn't even realize that when I remove the doors this summer, the mirrors are going with them , LoL... You moved the mirrors to the windshield pillars yourself? If so, any tips and tricks.
Is it even legal to drive without mirrors, I hope so. LoL

Thanks for the warm welcome again and thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I've got a question for you guys, you think me being an average mechanic can install a a lift in 2 days ,over a weekend, successfully I know my way around a vehicle but never have messed with the frame, suspension, chassis or deep shit like that. Thinking about just taking it to a dealership since it is brand new and having them install it... thoughts?...
