I am glad to be aboard and thanks for having me. I have a constant problem with my front hubs locking due to the vacum. I only use it during hunting season and only drive it in the woods, is there a way to lock the front hubs permenantly and would it hurt?

Yes, it can be done. I'm not familiar with the procedure because I own a TJ, but I remember seeing a thread in the YJ area detailing the procedure. If you search there I'm sure you can find it. It has something to do with the front differential. There are no adverse effects to doing this mod if I remember correctly.

If you remove the top of the vacuum disconnect box on the passenger side top axle tube, you will see a shift fork. You can remove this, and due several things. Add washers to the post it rides on to make it stay in the locked location, add a spring or drill a hole and run a bolt and nut to pin it in the locked position as well.
