No doubt there will be an older first time Jeep Wrangler owner somewhere, but I will be 76 in December 2012. Just ordered a new Rubicon Unlimited and can't wait to get it. I am restoring a wetland and I have had my all wheel drive SUV pulled out of the muck four times in six years, twice with a backhoe. I have had enough of that, plus I want to be able to get to my field even when it snows hard, and my SUV has gotten me into more trouble than I can get out of too many times. I hope to end that with my Rubicon.
I have read a few threads and I have already found some good advice. This is a great place to be. Thanks for the forum and all the help.
Here's my own advice for anyone considering a new one. I used TrueCar to get offers from dealers in my state. My local dealer said he couldn't do better than MSRP because there were no incentives from Jeep on Wranglers. I almost believed him until I got an offer $400 below invoice. I took that deal and they are even going to deliver. That would have been a three hour round trip for me so that makes the deal even better. All the stock Rubicons come loaded so I did have to order to get it the way I wanted it. It's the most painless new car experience I have ever had. None of that sitting around while the salesman is conferring with his manager BS. And, btw, that end of the month getting your best deal stuff is BS too. Everyone is standing around not selling cars at the first of the month and they want to sell them just as bad then.
