My name is Mike and I'm about to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a Jeep owner.
As I have always purchased reasonable, family oriented cars, I have decided that at 41 I can buy a "car" that I've always wanted. I have ordered a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 2011 and am really excited that it is due to arrive sometime this month.
I'll be replacing my boring VW wagon lease with a real American Legend. I don't care about the mileage, nor the "ride," but rather am looking forward to joining the unique community of Jeep owners. I have never met a Jeep owner that regrets their purchase or does not seem to enjoy their Jeep immensely.
I wanted to introduce myself, and hope to make some minor modifications to make my Jeep all mine. I hope that shortly after picking up my jeep, which will be Bright White, I can powdercoat my wheels and anything chrome black. I am also considering an air intake, exhaust or both, but have read mixed reviews. It will probably take some time, but I would also like to do a mild lift, that retains some ride quality and add 33" tires.
I know that I have come to the right place and look forward to typing will the more experienced Jeep crowd. I'm sure I am for some great advice and direction.
I don't know where you are, so I don't know that I'd see you on the road. So, just in case, here's your wave
If it's anything like my 2010 unlimited (or my previous 2008 "X" 2-door) you won't have any complaints about the ride. It might take a little time to get used to it, as it really doesn't handle like any other vehicle on the road. But FUN?? I had the unlimited off-road at a Jeep Jamboree and it was a blast (not a real tough trail, but then I'm more into it for the scenery than the challenges).
