about to buy my first wrangler

hey guys. i am about to get a yj from a friend when i get back from basic training. it is a stock sahara with 115,000. so i think its a good starting point.
plans are to do an exhaust from the motor back, if not a cold air intake then put a strait pipe from the air box to the tb, maybe do a tb spacer. from there not sure what i want to do. a lift of some sort but not sure how big. any advice would be a big help. and if there are any jeepers in the lansing michigan area let me know.. thanks guys and girls.

Welcome! Thats a good starting point. On a YJ, a 4" lift will clear 32's with very little rubbing. Add a 1" body lift and you can run 33's .
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

I run a 3'' lift and 33'' M/T's and no rubbing at all.

Welcome aboard.
I just did a 3" Old Man Emu lift on one of those.
It was really easy, took us 4 hours but we stopped and had a cold beer about evey 15 minutes so it could have been quicker.

I've owned several jeeps with the inline 6 cyl. Good motor, doesn't really need any help to push 33" tires.
