Almost a JEEP owner...

Hello all. I've been lurking for a while, and I figured I should speak up. I don't quite have a jeep yet, but I will soon. My good friend is selling his 2000 Wrangler Sahara. It's got a hard top w/ doors and a soft top w/ doors, along with a tonneau cover. Warn front and rear bumpers with a 9500 LB Warn winch on the front. The rear bumper has a tire carrier, high-lift jack and double jerry can carriers. He's integrated the full roll cage into the stock roll bar and installed an alpine stereo system. Both the front and rear diff's have limited slip lockers and I believe the gearing is still stock? (Is that good?) It's got the cloth front seats, straight 6 and an automatic transmission. It also has 3" suspension lift, 1" body lift, front suspension dis-connect, and Doetsch tech shocks. It has 33" Kelly tires and Warn 9" fender flairs. I don't know if I like these? They seem to stick out awfully far, and I think I'd like to be able to see the tires during rock crawling. He's also installed an air-raid filter system on it.It has approximately 45,000 miles on it and he's selling it to me for $9000.00
All he has to do now is get the title sent to him so I can finance the final $5000.00.
This feels like a good deal to me. I've never owned a Jeep before, but I've always wanted to. Does this sound like a good combination/set-up to any of you more knowledgeable Jeepers? I'll mainly be driving it here in western Colorado and I really want to do some crawling around the Moab area!
This looks like a great club here and I'm looking forward to all of the fun.

Welcome to WF Sound like a good setup but TJ's are not my specialty. Add up his goodies new and you are probably going to be ahead of the game.

Almost welcome to our forum.

Sounds like a great starting point for a rig. I say starting point, because as you can see on the forum, it will never be "done".

Oh yes, I can already tell that! I want to get a set of tube fenders I think those look nice and would add some extra functionality. I can't wait.......

It's unbelievable, but I finally, actually got the jeep this week! I had every obstacle you could have but I kept trying and now I actually have it. over 20 months of waiting!!! But since my last post it has received a new rear locker, ring&pinion, new drive-shafts/U-joints and radiator. Unfortunately, I was supposed to go to Moab tomorrow, but I discovered a giant rip in the rubber on the inside of the tire after running around on some ATV trails this last weekend! Looks like I'll have to get some new tires sooner than I thought. The ones on it are pretty worn and old so I'm not really surprised, just mad. But anyway....I LOVE IT! You were right, when I received my first catalog from 4wd parts I found about $4000.00 worth of stuff I must have! The adventure begins... Any ideas on good tires but not too expensive. It now has 33x9.50 15's. I will probably go to 33x12.50 15. Big O has some nice Bigfoot XT's. I'll post some pictures of it as soon as I get some taken. Talk to you all later. So many things to polish, buy and check out.
