I always wanted a Wrangler, but couldn't justify having two cars (and I'm certainly NOT getting rid of my El Camino) in addition to a Harley.
A buddy at work got one, and he threw me the keys. I made a big mistake of driving that thing around with a big smile across my face.
I've finally been able to justify the purchase realizing that winters are hell on my El Camino (with 170k miles and no weight in the back end) and the Wrangler could save me a few mpg as well.
Regardless, I'm starting to look for a high mileage truck, almost surely a TJ but would consider a YJ as well. Looking around $5k to spend (and I'm surprised how little this will add to my insurance being a "recreational vehicle" instead of a primary vehicle)
What should I look for, problem-wise? I'm most certainly only considering 6 cylinder trucks with manual tranny's. Really prefer a hard top because the winters here a chilly and the thing's gotta be parked outside in a parking lot far-far away (you know, the whole college thing)
Anyway, any advice?
